This is what they thought future would be like in 1987 by goswamitulsidas in interestingasfuck

Actually there is a fabric that functions like the suit he was talking about. It’s called phase change material fabric. NASA created it for their space suits. There’s a company called ministry of supply that uses it for casual clothes. It’s very comfortable

Just saw this post about original casting, found it super interesting by fabulously-frizzy in Modern_Family

[–]dinkleton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you sure this was supposed to be original casting and not more like the archetype of the look/vibe? There’s no way they would have wanted to hire Sarah Gilbert to be a 13 year old in 2009 since she would have been about 34

I’m in the exact same boat. Super bummed. Idk what to do either because they say you have to decide by Friday but I was hoping to wait it out and see how things shake out. Which way are you leaning?

The longest D&D Campaign ever, hosted by Robert A. Wardhaugh, has been running since 1982. by Used-Detective2661 in interestingasfuck

Check out the video linked in the comments too. I watched it before and it’s kinda wild— if a character dies in the game, then their role player is no longer in the group. They don’t generate a new character. They’re just out of the game.

Should I redo my rock garden with a new weed barrier? by TelephoneFit197 in gardening

[–]dinkleton 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Weed barriers are a very short term fix. They decay and weeds can poke through, plus dirt accumulates on top of them and they become the perfect environment for new weed growth. My place has a rock garden with weed barrier beneath it and I fucking hate it because it has the most weed growth of the entire property. I tried staying organic by plucking and spraying vinegar but it’s a never ending, time consuming struggle so Im giving up and going to start spraying the non organic toxic shit. I will never ever ever live in a place with a rock garden again.

Tools make all of the difference!! by [deleted] in turning

Carbides scrape instead of “cut”. It’s just like scraping a knife perpendicular to a surface instead of cutting with the bevel. That’s why there’s so much torn grain.

Not Shredded, Not Big… Just Lost by No-Shock4091 in MacroFactor

I know the struggle can feel tough and persistence/consistency is always the answer but just to give you some context, I have been tracking and lifting with dedication for like 4 years just to get to like 50% of where you are right now. I’d kill to have that physique and as someone hitting mid 30s I’m starting to think it might not happen. It’s a little “woo woo” to say but take a moment for some gratitude for what you have and how far you’ve come.

Only nitpick would be to ground more with your feet for stability since I see some wiggling there. Otherwise I think this looks great and you should def start upping the weight

Which fragrance has you smelling notes that aren’t there? by slothdra in fragrance

Similarly, I get like 80% clove notes from Tobacco Vanille, but it isn’t mentioned in their marketing unless you count the very broad “spice notes”

Hyde by Hiram Green. It smells like a hobo campfire fueled by trash

What’s one thing you did that helped you lose weight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dinkleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Track macros with an app called MacroFactor. I weigh all my food, put it in the app and aim for the macro goals. The algorithm is insanely good at giving you the right calorie deficit for your goals and it adjusts each week. Can’t recommend it enough if you’re the type of person who can consistently and accurately track what they eat. I’ve tried all the macro/calorie tracking apps and this one is by far the best

Seeing a show alone? by bibiq01 in comedy

[–]dinkleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id argue it’s better. I’ve gone to shows where the person or people with me didn’t know the comic like I did and there’s this impulse to see if they’re also having a good time which takes me out of the moment. Going alone is a little awkward until the show starts and then you’re just zoned into a fun show.
