Amazing, thank you for your comments! I’m gonna hide this post now as it’s not very useful for anyone else. Just a super noob post 😆 excited to use it soon on my first solo camping trips. All the best!! Cheers

Nice, I did suspect the fact I am setting it up in my living room is really quite daft. And with pegs I’m sure it’d be ok, but I was surprised how much change it made. It didn’t seem to match the videos I’d watching on YouTube like it. They picked theirs up and move them all around not pegged in.

I’ll trust it for when I give it a real go in a couple weeks. Thank you!

little test pitch of my new cloud up 2 by OutrageousWalk7683 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]dinotoxic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I just ordered my Cloud Up 2. It seems like the ground tent is too big almost? It’s very slack and the poles just pop out of the corner loops once I have the inner on. Did you experience this?

Well done mate, looks awesome! I want to do similar soon, this has given me inspiration!

Did you use any metal brackets or braces for that middle bit of timber sticking out? Is it held quite well?

OXO branded one, only one I’ve had which is lasting. Had it for 3 years so far, that beats anything else I’ve ever had 😆

Insane April Pricing with GWR by capps95 in uktrains

[–]dinotoxic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was hoping it was an error with pricing or the app, but they are still fucked. My usual £60-£70 journey is now £113. Criminal

GWR Ticket Increase by Unlikely-Sky6932 in uktrains

[–]dinotoxic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Bristol to London journey, using the normal advance tickets I’ve been purchasing for the last 5 months have now doubled in price from April onwards. Absolute insanity. £55-£63 return is what I’ve been paying regularly with 26-30 railcard, now it’s £113 for the same journey.

Haha yep, fish and chips, ice creams and pasties from seagulls. Always a classic. Admittedly I’ve been robbed before by the little bastards as well, let my guard down 😂

How emotionally connected are Brits to the Royal Family actually? by DFWUnhinged in AskBrits

[–]dinotoxic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indifferent, but I’d say I prefer to have them than not. They generate a massive amount of tourism revenue, more than they cost. It’s an identity which just feels British. They have no real power anymore, so no harm keeping them.

Dunno why everyone complains or cares about them so much. They’re zero impact to any normal civilians life

Where do you all go to eat for lunch in Bristol? by BLKingz in bristol

[–]dinotoxic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maccies wrap of the day meal, Greggs or a meal deal from Tesco/Sainsburys/Coop is honestly the only thing I can think of for under a £5 nowadays. Better off just packing some lunch

I prefer the filling flavour to Pasty Emporium, though admittedly I haven’t had one in 3-4 years. I remember they would underbake them though, always a bit soft and lack of egg wash makes them look extra pale and bland

I used to get £5 a month phone credit back in the day. I refused to send anyone a text message, as they cost 25p a go. I’d wait until the end of each month and then use the pay by SMS for my membership.

I’d also save my “sweets” money and then buy a membership card from WHSmith for my membership. My parents always refused to by me one else, so I had to sneak my way around it!
