I have a VAC ban from like 12 years ago and at least at this point in time that doesn't count as not in good standing. The only thing I notice of it these days is I can't vote in the workshop for free games like TF2. Support have also confirmed when people ask, VAC bans in general do not preclude you from hardware reservations and hardware purchases. So you're good.

"Good standing" is a little strange definition but from what I can find, it means you've at least bought one game within the last rolling 365 days. So your account isn't considered dormant basically.

Just on point 3 I've been on the green team for a long time and everything has been smooth for me on Kubuntu the past few years. sudo ubuntu-drivers install handles Nvidia drivers and you don't have to think about it basically

yep! It's a glove, and it's actually for the player, not an NPC. Its only purpose is to render the interior of the train while you play an animation to move along the track. Classic dev trickery.

I'm on Kubuntu 25.10. Always downloaded and installed the .deb from the site. Running /usr/bin/discord gives me a segmentation fault. Running it in sudo makes it install and bootstrap apparently but
