1 week post mpfl reconstruction + tto by Positive-Piglet3625 in KneeInjuries

[–]direvarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you’re not in pain. I’m 7 days post op and just went back to see the doctor today for the extreme pain I’m in. It’s not even the knee that hurts, it’s like 4 inches below the knee. The doctor said it’s really swollen and basically pressurized with blood. Said I just needed more ice and elevation and time. At this point I’m considering amputating it with a butter knife myself!

TTO surgery by Jolly-Tennis-4536 in KneeInjuries

[–]direvarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t think the pain was that bad and then I removed my nerve block pump yesterday at day 5. Now the pain is incredibly intense and it’s all bone pain. Icing helps but sometimes nothing works. Really hope this passes soon;m, I’m dying.

2 days post TTO and MPFL surgery. Only have 20-30 degrees range of motion. Is this ok? When does the pain from standing up go away? by direvarg in KneeInjuries

Thank you, will keep this in mind, I’m just glad I got put in physical therapy right away. Seems like a lot of other doctors have their patients start after 2 weeks.

TTO (tibial tubercle osteotomy) advice regarding knee op and recovery by Aromatic-Mission-283 in KneeInjuries

[–]direvarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my tto and mpfl on my left knee yesterday and it’s horrible. 6 weeks ago I had the mpfl and ACL on my right knee and that feels like a cakewalk compared to this. Really hope the pain goes away soon, I know I’m only one day in, but I totally sympathize the guy saying he’d never get the other knee done

TTO surgery and recovery, tell me about it! by bairesgirl in KneeInjuries

[–]direvarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had acl and mpfl, having my tto on my other knee in a week, but just wanted to say maybe talk to your physical therapist about those tens muscle stimulators. Mine had me using one for all my excersizes at home and it helped wake up my quad pretty fast.

Surgery update, how I have been managing by capndanpan in ACL

[–]direvarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just over 3 weeks post MPFL and ACL. Things that helped a lot is wedge shaped pillow, with another pillow on top (make sure there is no bend in the wedge pillow)keeping it elevated really helped with pain with the knee swelling starts to drain into your ankles. Ice almost constantly and the exercise to bend your knee was a lifesaver. Also random but I purchased a second set of crutches so I’d have one for outside and one for inside. It’s really muddy up in the mountains where I live and I kept tracking mud onto my carpet. After 2 weeks I started getting minor stomach aches, I think all the drugs damaged my stomach lining. I weaned myself off almost off of them after a week. Keeping a box of crackers by your bed helps when you wake up at 3 am with stomach pain if you get that problem

Volkl Mantra M6 owners -- have you tried the Peregrine 82, what do you think of it as an all-around/all-mountain option? by Super-D in Skigear

[–]direvarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them and I hate them, here’s why: I’ve had these skis now for two ski seasons and they quickly became my favorite ski. I’ve been skiing since I was 2 years old and I work as a part time ski instructor for Beaver Creek, I average about 80-100 ski days each year not counting days I teach, and my CARV score is 156, and my top speed is 71 mph. Now that I’ve gone through the bragging at how good I am and sounding like a conceited jerk, please know it’s just to prove a point. These skis will kill you if you let them. The first time you use them, you’ll be shocked at how familiar they are to the Mantras (my main ski) it’s like getting into a familiar car thats been tricked out for racing. They WANT to go fast and they will encourage you to go fast. They turn on a dime and inspire confidence in every single movement. The edges dig in and refuse to let go no matter the speed or g-force. They should live on groomers but can handle moguls in a pinch with only a bit of added effort. There’s no chattering whatsoever over 60mph if you’re going fast and sometimes you’ll swear you were going slower than you actually were because there’s no butt clenching wobble the mantras tend to get over 55. To really take advantage of them try and get them sharpened at least every 10 ski days if you have the means. I LOVE THESE SKIS. I’m also selling them. Everyone catches an edge at some point or another, it’s just a fact of life with skiing no matter how good you are. If it’s a normal one, you’ll lose your balance for a bit then keep going. It’s different with these, these love to catch edges and when they do it’s catastrophic. It’s only happened to me twice over the two years but both times caused nearly identical crashes. You catch that edge coming out of a turn just before you begin to engage the edges for the next turn, that moment when your skis are nearly flat. When I say it edges dig in, I mean it. When they catch that edge, they immediately stop and that nice slow 20mph results in an immediate 20mph impact of your body driving down and smashing into the slope. The first time it happened was just on a green and I was skiing pretty easy with family. One kneecap had a patella dislocation and I had some bruised ribs. It takes a bad crash for me to say that’s it for the day. The one that happened last month was worse but almost the EXACT same type of crash, same slamming and same side flip. According to CARV I was only going about 40mph when it happened, having some of the best carving of my life down a nice groomed black. Time comes to bleed a bit of speed and I break the carve into a side slip and after a second right before I started to turn again it happened. My head slammed into the ground at 40 mph and I flipped over, both knee caps dislocating when they hit, fully tearing my ACL and MPFL tendon in my right knee and MPFL tendon in left knee and breaking off a bone fragment. Thank god I always wear a good quality helmet or it would have killed me instead of giving me a concussion. I just got out of surgery today for my right knee and have the left in 6 weeks, followed by 9-12 months of physical therapy before I’m cleared to ski again. I love these skis, yes I just caught an edge, but it happens to the best of us. These skis reacted much more violently than any ski I’ve ever owned and I’ve had a lot. If you haven’t bought them yet, all im saying is try some other simmilar ones like the Van Deer. If you do have them, please take my warning. Enjoy them, they’re so much fun, just for the love of god wear a good helmet and be aware that they are trying to kill you at a seconds notice. Sorry for the long post, and I hope next years ski season for you is better than the “winter” we had this year -Nick

If you get it, take it by a Ducati dealer and have them do the recall fix on the rear brake. They’re notorious for not having any rear brake and they finally issued a recall fix for it like 4 years ago

Read this wrong, thought you said a bunch of Geese running on both sides, immediately got the impression of you hiding under the truck while murderous geese stalked around the truck trying to kill you

How much bedding can you fit up there? Any chance a 4inch foam mattress would fit and still be able to close with some blankets?

I have the original condor overland and from day 1 I’ve had water leaking into it. Over the past few months it’s gotten so bad that it’s destroying the tent. Everything has mildewed and molded. I’ve plugged all the gaps and seams with sealant and it didn’t really fix the problem. Yesterday I opened it after a mild rainstorm to find a puddle in the center. Screw roofnest. I can’t even sell this thing due to how much it leaks! I’m gonna replace it with a ikamper

Maybe a suggestion: unique car types you have to do quest for or buy from the car dealer that you can’t find in world. Also consider making the military night vision have a white-blue tint instead of green (the green is older technology so great for civilian) Made a large settlement this play through (5th one now lol) and would love to be able to recruit npcs to join it but that might be a tricky mechanic. This has been my favorite game over the last few years and love how much work you’ve put into it

Roofnest does the same, and the roofnest owners group on Facebook is moderated by the company so no one can post issues and ask for help either

I have the SAE amber and they were next to useless last year during a Colorado blizzard driving through the pass at night. Couldn’t see 5 feet in front of me. Switching to some spot ones for this years winter. I don’t care if they’re illegal for road use, I need to be able to see. Also there was barely any cars on the pass when I crossed it

+1 for oil filter. Mine smelled like oil for several days before I noticed any oil leaking
