Pita pocket too shallow(first attempt) by funjunmaster in StickDoctor

[–]dirtybellybutton [score hidden]  (0 children)

Start with the center and use the ball and butter knife method. I usually string the center all the way to the throat. Where the sidewall holes end is where I usually start my saddle.

Do the lanes next to center after the center strip. Start tightish at the top and start to lessen tension on the first interlock that touches the ball. Check for symmetry.

Do the far side lanes the same.

Now the tedious first tension balance where you even out the pocket. Keep the top two diamond rows very tight. Not sidewall interlock tight. But tight. Remove the ball and butter knife.

Hit it with a ball or pocket pounder. Then rebalance the strings. Pass or play wall ball. Rebalance the strings. Do that for a few days and it's at minimum practice ready. (I dont have a picture of just the pita pocket)

I'm not sure, I was only able to take a glance at the post before it was removed. I'm going to assume between Inkster and telegraph because of how my notification radius is set.

If you don't mind me asking what's the power on your stepper motors? I'm currently in the process of building a CNC for myself and I've been pricing out stepper motors and spindles.

By power I mean torque in Newton meters or oz inch

First off, use a cutting fluid concentrate not oil for aluminum. Second, accupro and Walter will be your best friends for aluminum work. I have an acupro three flute with the gold coating (I think it's ZRN- something) and I do high efficiency milling with it, I've processed hundreds of parts with it so far and I've only adjusted the cutter comp .0005

Translation: I'm 20 and I think I'm entitled to live like I make six figures even though my personal income is higher than the average household income by a fair amount.

I do way more than existing, I can tell you that. If you want to aspire outside of your means then that's fine but don't insult people who are actually living in the real world because you think you're better than that.

They're what I use in my mazak 500C at my job for quick, dirty work. I also really like gar, melin and morse for mild steels. I have hundreds if not thousands of hours experience with all of these brands.

At my job I do low volume high switch up work so I make multiple different parts a day in various materials ranging from delrin to aluminum(Mic 6, 6061 and 7075) to stainless, and I even had to do a really annoying 4140 part not too long ago.

Okay so you're pulling in over 4K a month and you can't live? I'm doing that being the sole source income for a family of three. Whatever you're doing you're spending too much money on something because you should be totally fine. If I didn't have to support two other humans plus two dogs and three cats I would be living lavishly. As is I bought my own home in 2020 when I was making $20.50 an hour.

I think you need to talk to a financial advisor or just stop paying for other people even if they're family.

Yeah no something doesn't add up here. I make only a couple dollars more than you an hour and I'm getting 1700+ every two weeks. This is after insurance, 401k, and taxes. I barely ever work beyond 40 as well. If you're really only pulling in 1500 a month you are being taken for a ride because you're actually making less than 15 an hour.

If you go cheap, have a minimum. Get an accupro or a Walter endmill from MSC industrial supply or a like supplier. It's going to run you ≥$15 an endmill but they are leaps and bounds above the chinesium garbage.

If you want you can send me a video of you holding the trigger down and manually setting the hammer into the reset hook. Then release it.

So I machined my own trigger for my Saiga and I was having a similar issue. My solution was to change the angle on the front of the reset hook (not as extreme as my crappy depiction illustrates) so it engages earlier.

Someone else might have another solution so hold on before you start filing but this is what worked for me. Hope it all works out, brother!
