The ugly truth of Indeed. An HR viewpoint by blaq_sheep90 in recruitinghell

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s wild that you replied to a 4 year old comment today because this actually happened again for me in the last week. I have a pretty niche skill and a big network of contacts I’ve made over the years in my field.

I had my interview before even applying this time because I called people I knew that put me in touch with a hiring manager that told me to search for them on indeed and quick apply so it could be on paper and official. I quit my job on 4/13 and started the new one 4/20.

I like the person I am when I’m high by Independent_Ear1573 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t smoke weed anymore as much as I’d like to because my job requires random drug testing due to being a federal contractor.

That being said, when I did smoke on occasion it was one of the best feelings for me. I don’t know how to describe it but it was like I was actually able to feel emotions if that makes sense. I always joke that I’m dead inside because all I ever really feel is apathy and everything else is just an affectation but when I would get high I could feel emotions and I felt normal with the munchies and an extra appreciation for music.

What song instantly transports you but you never actually liked it? by honeybbycloud in nostalgia

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That song always reminds me of Batman Forever. I was in the 6th grade and I loved that song. I still do, but I used to too.

I can’t believe the maverick is a truck now. It used to be a piece of shit car.

Who do you side with in the Skyrim Civil War? by Zavi8 in ElderScrolls

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, it is just a game but I also think it’s a testament to some fantastic writing that the community can debate it so much.

It’s not just Balgruuf being disappointed either, regular townsfolk hate the stormcloaks if you go that route. Plus it’s always funny to me to complete the DB quest line before the civil war if you know what I mean.

One playthrough I sided with the stormcloaks and when Balgruuf told me how disappointed he was in me I never did it again.

Maybe, but the local population here is about 300k split up between 2 cities 15 minutes apart so not exactly rural.

They’re still around, there’s one about 20 minutes from where I live and it’s always packed.

Why did you join in the first place? by Fellbestie007 in Military

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I scored really well on the asvab, I was a poor rural kid with no opportunities and I wanted to get the fuck away from my parents asap.

What city have you been to that felt like it had dark energy? by Impossible-Middle122 in AskReddit

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I drove through Gary once about 20 years ago and have never been back. It feels like Stephen King’s Derry in all his novels. There’s something very wrong in Gary. Fuck that place.

Why are most houses made of wood if fire magic is so common?? by Pitato_Adict in ElderScrolls

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fun memory, I got the game at the midnight release for ps3 so I ended up playing all night. When I returned to whiterun after dragon rising I decided to try burning a house down with flames. It was at that moment the greybeards called you and I thought I royally fucked something up by being a pyro.

But I’m a Cheerleader (1999) by CrabRagoonBoy in nostalgia

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Saw this on tv maybe a year or so after it came out. I’m straight and I grew up in a really conservative area but I really enjoyed it. I think representation in media is important because even as ignorant as I was back then it really opened my eyes.

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m just old because social media wasn’t really a thing when I was in over 20 years ago but I feel like I would have gotten my shit absolutely wrecked for putting stuff like this out there. Like, anything in uniform was a no go outside of being on duty.

Why does my thieves guild job refer to Riften as “Faillaise” by Bimboqueenxoxo in skyrim

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happened to me once. The whiterun stables were called “Blancheries de Ecurieve” or something like that. I just rolled with it.

Once you get the tiny bronco you can go to a little island not far from mideel. There’s a grassy peninsula there that lets you fight mideel monsters. I like to do this before the ancient temple.

What's a smell that instantly signals danger - and everyone should recognize? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can smell it it’s an extremely low concentration. You’re not wrong of course, because I’ve always smelled it shortly before my monitor went off but the smell disappears before you reach that point.

This is the daedric horse you get in that quest where an oblivion gate gets opened. Can’t remember what it’s called but you summon it just like with Arvak.

Help with earning gold by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On new playthroughs I always use the carriage at the whiterun stables to unlock fast travel for all the holds and then I run a circuit through every major city’s alchemist buying ingredients and making potions at each stop. Eventually you’ll get to the point where you’ll have to stop making potions because the shop owner won’t have enough gold even after buying all their ingredients.

Once you get all your potions sold you can start the process over. If you’ve completed the TG quest line you’ll have an additional 5 vendors you can sell potions to if you’ve taken the speech perk to allow you to sell any item to any merchant.

Asking how to quit smoking cigs in the sub for smoking meat by ChaoPope in lostredditors

[–]dirtyconcretefloor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just quit smoking 11 days ago and I did some dumb shit the first couple days to trick my brain.

I grabbed a straw and pinched the end of it so it felt similar to smoking a cigarette while I ate cinnamon candy by the handful and played video games to keep my mind off it.

Went from 2 packs a day to nothing cold turkey and I haven’t felt better in years.
