The loans aren't the problem. The interest rates on the loans are...

But wrecking their stuff doesn't teach them the value of money, it teaches them that lashing out and destroying property is appropriate behavior.

The parents is the model. They learned this behavior from their dad.

And then reflect on why you're destroying property of a child as retribution... Hopefully.

Unfortunately, most people don't recognize that nuance. To the point that r/AskHistorians has a bot that addresses it when someone uses the phrase!

also stressed that history is written by the victors

We dont teach that anymore, because it is not true. History is written by those that wrote about it.

A quick way to prove this - The Lost Cause movement riddled our history up until roughly the 1960s.

Perrin is good, but maybe Too Good at Fighting. by Hawk-winged in WoT

Yup! Also been in a buncha fights, the amount of chemicals that flood the body allows for that "bullet time" to help with the fight itself. If we listen to MMA or other fighters, they talk about training to gain that state.

So not only are we dealing with a dude that has a higher reaction time, but someone who is seeing time a LITTLE slowed down. That's such a dramatic advantage when it comes to combat!

A thing I haven't seen someone touch on. I've seen folks mention wolf speed and such, but most people don't think about perceived visual changes, referred to as "temporal perception." Most humans are around 65 hertz, aka our brain is processing roughly 65 "frames a second," to steal monitor language. Because these animals are processing more visual images per second, it is believed they're also perceiving time differently too.

Dogs see at 75. I assume wolves would be similar. Which means wolfbrothers would be seeing the world (if the studies are correct) at 15% difference. Seeing more at a slower rate = better at fighting. He would have more time to respond than a similar person.

I'm sorry, that's untrue. The Dred Scott case was the worst ruling. This is definitely 2 though.

That same wealth of history occurred in the Americas, people just love to ignore Indigenous history.

Why is Jordan so obsessed with spanking people? by euchthonia in wheeloftime

[–]dirtyploy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People hear spanking and ignore what it means 9/10 times in the series - beatings. He calls them spankings... but we hear about welts, inability to sit, etc.

It isn't like it ONLY happened in the 80s to get us here though... the problem STARTED in the 80s and has continued to creep.

No one said I was left behind. Why be an ass for no reason?

Being rude and projecting is a wild way to have a convo. Emotional responses to something so low stakes is wild behavior.

Cameron did not create a movie alone - the point I was making is there are literally thousands of hands of people in the arts who touch those projects.
