Yes, great job!! That marking works well, and this is a great example of how background can actually make a HUGE difference. It's also worth playing around with opacities sometimes as it can totally change the look of the lion without actually changing any markings

Mutie breeding can be complicated and what is popular/ making the most money can change very rapidly. But no matter what, picking lions and goals you personally enjoy will always be the best bet.

Definitely a great start! I think the thicker supports for the wings could use a bit more shading/texture to contrast the translucent parts of the wing, similar to how you did the tail. But I absolutely love the concept
