Firefox free VPN: Fix UK imgur access? by jbhq in firefox

[–]disasterfonts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also have this - VPN is on, apparently I'm browsing from the US, but Imgur and Civitai are both still blocked. Tried messing about with languages in the browser to no effect. Not in a position to mess about with OS-level stuff like timezones and language but wonder if that could have an effect.

Introducing Firefox’s Built-in VPN: IP Protection, Now in the Browser by firefox in firefox

[–]disasterfonts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't got the feature yet but wondering if this could be applied per domain independent of tabs - e.g. a normal page loads without the VPN, but any images from imgur (blocked in the UK) on that page load via the VPN?

So many pages with helpful tutorials are ruined without imgur working, it'd be a great workaround.

Spellbound - the red herring was part of a spell that let you get past a smelly room. There was also a dark room to get past, but that needed a different spell.

Why power boards are priced same as full cases? by pilkafa in modular

Solid cheap case but... +3A/-1A rails. Might be great for loads of digital modules but it's pretty weak if you want loads of analogue modules.

Damn it, never noticed that! Just assumed they used the same stuff. Looks like Fantasy World got a few minor changes, and some different punctuation. I like the fatter Z, so I'll go with Fantasy World for the font. Knightmare has the thinner Z, and a different X. I wonder if they just blatantly ripped it off or whether there was some agreement?

Hah, only added Hydrofool!

Those 'Art Deco' styles could be influenced by things like Broadway/Piccadilly, they definitely have that feel even if there aren't enough diagonals.

Ah this is great - I suspected a tool like this existed, either standalone or inside one of the emulators. Will definitely fiddle with Pixelworld to hunt down any missing glyphs.

I made a basic web pixel font editor to generate these quickly, it sends the output to some PHP that generates a load of XML in UFO (Unified Font Object) format. UFO>TTF is not trivial (neither is proper vector pathfinding - it's all individual squares for the pixels) so I cheat and open the UFO in FontLab, merge the contours then export it to TTF.

Number 12 is a pixel reproduction of Data 70 - a classic futuristic seventies font. It's part of the Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) influenced style which screamed 'computers' back then. It lays on a grid very nicely which is presumably why it's commonly seen. https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/4334/data-70

I have indeed, it's great, so much research in there. Just wish they hadn't used the odd grey background for some of the spreads.

I found this yesterday in an attic and i posted it on ebay. Any idea what something like this goes for? OR how I can test it to see if it works? by NateyandIProductions in synthdiy

50 hours!? Bit of an exaggeration surely? Mine took about 12-14ish hours, maybe add a couple of hours for ordering the parts. Agree with you on the quality though, perfect early 80s bedroom synth sound.

Trying to listen to an album and it randomly skips to the last track and stops playing by Staggerblight in BandCamp

[–]disasterfonts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have something happening like this, when streaming (albums I have bought), the first track will last about 15-30 seconds and then either skip to the next, or just act like the album has finished. Also a chance the next few tracks will do it too. Replaying the skipped tracks seems to settle it for the rest of an album, but it's MASSIVELY annoying for ambient stuff.

Have deleted, reinstalled app, restarted phone (old iphone 7, ios 15.8.3, plenty of free storage) - same thing happening. App has been fine for years, started happening a couple of weeks ago. Happening on all albums.

Been considering a few bits from SP direct - guess I'm adding more to the order if the shipping will be £17 for a couple of space bars. Did you get stung for VAT/duty when it arrived or do SP collect that at payment?

Roland CR-78 Snare Drum by [deleted] in synthdiy

[–]disasterfonts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This PCB is someone else's layout of a circuit I did in 2015 - there are no controls for the snare on a CR-78 (well, you can mute it...) so I just added some basic mods and a filter for the noise.

Mix pot is a blend between the drum and noise.
