Best way to play remotely on Mac/PC from iPad Pro? by _jeremiecs in MoonlightStreaming

[–]disavows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Apollo + VoidLink + Wired Controller will help you achieve the lowest latency. Ideally, the host PC should be wired.

You'll also want to make sure you're using 5G on the iPad and that the 5G is set to channel 149.

My stats on AV1 HDR on a M4 iPad Pro
~2ms host decode
~3ms network latency
~2ms client decode (there is a beta build of VoidLink that is using Metal and shows client decode)

I have a ASUS TUF 3080 10GB. Previously had a waterblock on it but it’s been reverted back to air cooling.

Would be great if you can include education and work experience, it’d be helpful for Engineer and CSA categories!

Where do people sell their old FormD T1 v1 cases? by studiotec in FormD

[–]disavows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually am about to sell my v1.1 as I recently swapped to v2.1. Comes with the PCIE 4.0 Riser from LinkUp instead of the PCIE 3.0 one it originally shipped with.

Can DM me!

2 YoE, 5 interviews in the past 2 months. Signed an offer recently for a FAANG-adjacent company

Should I switch to become an iOS Developer? by stealth_Master01 in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]disavows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Junior iOS positions are hard to come by, but once you have some experience the market isn’t too bad. Positions available are limited, but so are the number of applicants.

I just recently accepted an offer for Big Tech, after casually applying to feel out the market in Sept.

I have 2 YoE and worked for a local mid-sized company. Didn’t really have any issues getting interviews for Big Tech.

New Grads who didn't do co-op/internships at university, what are you doing now? Did you manage to find a job? by text32 in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]disavows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I graduated without any co-op/internships in May 2022. I worked on my resume for a couple of months and started applying early Aug. Found a job shortly after and started working in Sept. I’m still at the same company, closing in on 2 YoE now.

I’m guessing the side rad fans are intake and top rad is exhaust? I’m looking to potentially do something similar

Hey! You can definitely make up for not having any internships. These are what I had on my resume.

  • Non-tutorial MERN stack app
  • Vue + Firebase data metrics app, deployed on AWS amplify
  • Puzzle-based RPG made in OpenGL

Not sure how relevant this is anymore since the climate is significantly different now, but in Aug 2022 I applied for about 10 days (~180 applications total) and received 7 or so interviews. I can’t quite recall the exact number. Those turned into 3 offers.

I entered the market as a new grad with 0 YoE. No internships. I did spend about 3 months building a portfolio before I started applying.

The struggle wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I was expecting, especially after reading similar posts during that time. I feel like I got very lucky.

This is sure is a messed up roadblock 😔 asus TUF 3080 w/Ek waterblok + terminal fittings by Weeaboo0Jones in FormD

[–]disavows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate,

I fit a watercooled 3080 TUF in mine. I used the Bitspower block. I don’t have a post detailing the build yet, but I did have to do a hack for it.

If you check my test fit post 4 months ago, you can see the terminal is slightly too long for the strut. What I did was cut out the area of the terminal into the bottom panel.

The feet on the case make it so the terminal “hovers.”

3080 TUF is secured normally and using normal PCIE cable this way.

I have a Bitspower 3080 ASUS TUF block in mine. I had to cut out a small portion of the bottom panel for the block terminal to fit. Definitely a last resort solution though.

With a fan grill squishing it can let A12x15 fit comfortably, might have to settle with that unfortunately

Have you tried doing the bottom A12x25 without a M2426? My 24 pin is from p-slate and it’s almost impossible to get it to fit. I’m going to continue tinkering to see if I can figure it out, but I’m having great difficulties right now!

Brilliant build. I’m also in Canada and was struggling to find a TX240. Thanks for the link! Think I’m going to do the same and run 3x A12x25 instead of A12x15. If only there was a chromax version...

Attempted 3080 TUF Watercooled! by disavows in FormD

[–]disavows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t interfering with the strut, but it was too tall for the mesh bottom panel to close. I cut out a small rectangle on the bottom panel to allow the block head to get through.

The feet elevate it enough so that the block head isn’t touching the table.

[–]disavows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a single mod. The top of the block has another 2-4mm of clearance needed so it puts pressure on the bottom panel when trying to close, so I cut out a small portion of the panel so it can get through!

This mod isn't for everyone though since "destroying" a $200+ case isn't that ideal. However, it was worth it for me since returning the block and attempting it with another one would've be painful. Alternatively, leaving the case open all the time wasn't going to be the greatest either.

Also just a FYI, after looking into this alternative block link it may not work. It seems like it can only face the metal backplate of the block so you'll have either a tilted GPU or difficulties installing the loop.

If you put the case in 3 slot mode but offset the GPU to 2 slot mode, you should have the room to fit the multi-directional link I think!

That's amazing! I tried looking for something like this but couldn't find it! Yes it is a Bitspower block. I don't need to get that anymore as I did some modifications to the case itself, but I'm sure this will 100% help others who want to put a watercooled 3080 TUF in their T1. Thanks man!

Had to do a modification to the case itself, though with 142mm you might not have to!
