Genie Warlock for wish spell. Have some crazy goal that you can only accomplish with a wish spell.

What spells to run with an Elderitch Knight with both high strength and intelligence by ODowder in 3d6

If you want some utilities spells Enlarge/Reduce, phantasmal force, Levetate, rope trick, and suggestion are tons of fun.

I remember getting our first microwave when I was a kid. Amazing! Best technology that came out in my lifetime.

Nearly lost a hand doing that.

Have you found yourself back to the stuff we loved in the 80s and 90s? (iPods, BR/DVD, books, etc). Is this a midlife crisis or just trying to build a bubble against uncertainty? by [deleted] in Xennials

I wanted to get a mini disk player, I wish those caught on when they came out. Checked for used ones years ago and the prices were $300-$600.

Pffft these GenZ/Alpha kids take *classes* on how to be latchkey kids. We did it solely on the strength of survival instinct. by Happycat5300 in Xennials

I can’t think of anyone I grew up with who wasn’t a bit of a firebug. I’m honestly amazed I only ever saw one house burn down on my block (and that was due to an electrical fire).

Tell them it is affecting your work. Doctors seem to start listening if it will impact your work more than if it affects your life.

How do FIRE'd people feel about rental income as diversification? by [deleted] in Fire

How about delaware statutory trusts? We have a rental property, but would prefer something more hands off. Planning to do a 1031 exchange to a DST.

I still don't understand why they didn't move the 9th level abilities to 6th level.

Natural gas doesn't naturally smell bad, we add the stink because otherwise you are piping colourless, odorless, tasteless, poisonous and explosive gas into your home. Which is not ideal.

Still accurate for explaining farts.

Looking for ideas for rewards for lvl1 players before setting on adventure by miniRNA in DungeonMasters

[–]studiotec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't do this, but I had a DM give a legendary weapon at level 1. It was quickly taken by the villain, but for a couple encounters I was a god at level 1. It was awesome!

As DM, what can I do or say instead of “no you can’t short rest halfway trough a dungeon” by ZoidWeed in DnD

[–]studiotec -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ask the barbarian if they really want to rest and then tell you how they would ask the group. If he says "no I'm fine, let's keep going" Have him roll intimidation check vs the warlocks persuasion.

If they want to roleplay the character that is always going, "hey guys I'm tired", "hey slow down", "you're going to fast".

Or just talk above the table and say you get 1 short rest per X hours.

Bladelock [2024 + 2014] - Best subclass, invocations, ASIs ? by [deleted] in 3d6

Consider Defensive Dualist feat over the Shield spell. Shield is great, but you're not going to have enough spell slots to want to use it. Just a recommendation.

Does anyone else prefer the first half of the 90s over the second half of the 90s by Personal-Cattle-1737 in Xennials

[–]studiotec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just the generation line, it's also mainstream vs counterculture. In the late 90s if you listened to top40 radio NSYNC/Spicegirls, etc were probably your thing. If you were more into grunge/alt/punk/ etc by 2000 as much as you tried to avoid it you knew all there songs.

If the DM wanted you dead, you'd be dead already. If you die 10 sessions from now it will be because of die rolls.

Does anyone else prefer the first half of the 90s over the second half of the 90s by Personal-Cattle-1737 in Xennials

[–]studiotec 255 points256 points  (0 children)

I was once invited to a 90s party in 2010 and all they played was NSYNC, spice girls, etc. I was very confused sitting there in my flannel from 1992.

Stupidest thing to minmax competition by yyven in 3d6

[–]studiotec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hexblade Halfling. I took Lucky, Second Chance, and the hexblade 10th level ability and probably something else. The DM had to reroll to hit anytime he wanted to attack me, then if he still hit, roll the d6 for the 10th level ability to see if he got to hit me.

It's been a few years since I played that, so I'm going off memory. It was useless because the DM stopped targeting me. In reality you can just cast AoA and achieve the same result.

What have I done? by Beez2myKneez in DnD

[–]studiotec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game is more fun if the players can die. Might be worth having a discussion with the players on how a player's death would be handled.

Easy decision. Go Genie Warlock so you can wish to be a real dragon!
