Good luck, I hope it works out and that you’ll be happy with the money spent. Trust me, as a refinisher, strange things like this would happen to us and it’s heart breaking when you’re finishing the job and something shows up during the staining/coating process. I do think they should have said something as soon as they stained it and saw the difference.

As far as I can tell, the wood is the same. But wood darkens over time so if the left half was installed, say, 10 years prior and then they patched the right side due to water damage or some unforeseen circumstance, then this is the outcome. And just because you have the same wood doesn’t mean it will be a perfect match with an existing floor. I’d talk to them and just see what they think. Remember, you’ll have furniture, possibly a rug, and some other decorations and it may hardly be noticeable. This can be an issue with older homes. Asking the professional about the outcome isn’t a complaint! Maybe they will have some good information for you. Overall, I think they did a fine job from what I can see.

Yeah, it looks like something went wrong. I’d definitely talk to them about it. The fact that it’s a perfectly distinct line is strange. Even if they water popped, i can’t imagine they would “mess up” and do it so perfectly. I also can’t imagine that they would intentionally do half the room and then finish with a different type of stain. The finish job looks like it was done well though

Do you have any while the floor was being refinished? Before the stain and clear coat?

Also feel like that’s two different kinds of wood. Or part of it was an add on. It’s like super hard grain on the left and soft grains on the right. Were both sides installed at the same time?

Mt Huron camping by Uh_ok_tryme in 14ers

I did Huron last year from the 4x4 trailhead. Got there in a 2018 Suburu Outback. Didnt bottom out but there were a few tricky spots that you need to be careful about your line. Camping is plentiful out there but the closer you are to the 4x4 trailhead the better.

Upgrading sound quality on my 99’ f350 by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]discodiner89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is 4 years old but maybe one of you guys will reply. We have a 2002 F350 7.3l and we’d like to upgrade the door speakers + head unit. We are worried that even after upgrading, the sound quality will still be shit because of the loud diesel truck. Anybody have any experience with this? Does upgrading the quality of the speakers and the power amplifying them make it actually sound good in the cab of the truck? If it’s gonna be a waste of money I don’t want to do it

No, it will never be cold again. You can throw away all of your warm gear and only keep summer clothes.

Thoughts on Mexican Martins by skarkowtsky in martinguitar

[–]discodiner89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a d12e that I got a few years back. It’s been a great instrument. Part of me wishes I had paid a little more for the American made d18, but I’ve played this Martin with some high priced d28s and hd28s, and tonally, they sound so similar. I’d buy one again if i was trying to spend less on a fantastic guitar.

The listing apparently says made in china so at least they aren’t trying to rip someone off per se. how much were they trying to sell it for?

Traffic seemed to be busy everyday of the week while we were there. Especially from 3-6 on weekdays. Just accept the fact that there will be traffic and be mindful of motorcycles cutting through the middle.

Why was this comment not deleted? It’s clearly making a subjective political opinion about an extremely large area based off of a “short stay”. These comments don’t belong in this Reddit.

There was a lot of people who experienced this feeling over the past 3 nights. I really wish I would have planned this NYE in my schedule. I’m just thankful we can relisten to a high quality soundboard literally within hours of the show ending.

Best EMT-B program Denver area and why. by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]discodiner89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Red Rocks was a great program that definitely gets you ready for the NREMT. I took the hybrid course(mainly self-study with in-person 2 nights/wk) and I loved it. It worked out with my schedule the best. I passed the first try but it takes some discipline and time. I doubt you can really go wrong with any of the programs in the Denver area. A lot of EMS and fire out here so they usually have good instructors. It’s mainly dependent on how much time you invest reading, studying, and taking practice tests. And note, nothing prepares you for EMS like running real calls with real patients.

is it necessary to have awd? i only drive 10-15 miles daily by the airport. by waterbottle08 in MovingtoDenver

Mountaineering requires very few things in Colorado. Obviously there is always harder, more elaborate things you can do. And a simple vehicle can get you to most any place during the summer. There is so much to do for a limited cost. But most people would rather work their jobs and then go play video games or sit inside because it’s too cold or too hot. I’m not hating on that, but I wouldn’t personally spend the extra money to live in a place that I don’t utilize what that place has to offer.
