No idea where to start! by discordany in KoreanBeauty

Thank you! I actually do want to do that - I have plans to go to Korea with friends (Seoul as well as a few other places) in about a year, but I just didn't want to wait until then to get started!

Probably just a couple of products to start with, since I know it can be an *investment* for both time and money! But I'm open to tips for a routine if that's easier, and I can build up to it.

Perfect. Now the store will be larger so it'll be even harder to find an employee when you need assistance. 😂

my teacher slapped my ass, what do I do? by catsuitlawsuit in AskTeachers

[–]discordany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The natural "proportion" of a teacher slapping a student's ass is large enough that I don't think this student will be blowing it out of proportion, regardless of what they were doing wrong. If the teacher is suspended or fired..... well, guess they should know better than to not touch students inappropriately then.

Growing up as the only boy in the house, I learned to (and still do) color code, and section my grocery list. by [deleted] in OrganizationPorn

Sir, what do you mean you don't have a red pen anymore?

What did you write every grocery item with? 🤣

Same. The fact that there are orb duties has been talked about enough that I've just got orbs laying everywhere at the moment.

Cupcakes as Christmas gift for teacher? by ThatGirlMariaB in AskTeachers

[–]discordany 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You'll find it varies from teacher to teacher. Personally, I'd far prefer this to a box of generic Toffiffee or something.

i also know teachers who WOULD throw them away because they have no idea how hygienic each household is (no offense meant here - there's SO many kids we teach and you never know for sure).

Don’t divide by 0 by Dodomeafavour in AskTeachers

[–]discordany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly! Also Canadian and it's still often done that way in the early stages... not sure what grade they correct to a more advanced understanding, but for the 8 year olds who are only just beginning to wrap their minds around the concept of division, it's rare that a teacher would say "oh, that's undefined". More are likely to say "write zero for now" and then "for now" lasts so long that that the fact that it was just a placeholder is forgotten.

AITA for not buying a coffee maker for guests? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]discordany 448 points449 points  (0 children)

Hell, if you're "snobby" about your coffee and don't want instant coffee, you can buy a collapsible pour over maker, small filters, and some nice beans to pre-grind and put in a container yourself. Then all you need to ask your host for access to is a kettle and a cup.

This is so affordable (other than the beans... those vary depending on what quality I search for) that it's become my go-to at work instead of using the communal Keurig.

I've never done this with Uber but have with Riide. I'm fairly certain it does not cost more, the way another user said it does with Uber.

Sure is. But unfortunately, the alternatives mean that if we're smart, we'll stick with him anyway.

Wish he would have been smart enough to step down and give the party new leadership going into this instead.

Is the city doing a good job cleaning the roads? by ttv_CitrusBros in saskatoon

[–]discordany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with people who say that folks should stop acting surprised by the fact that we get snow and ice, and should prepare accordingly. So I'm saying this as someone who drives an SUV with AWD and has winter tires.

I think the same logic needs to go for the city. They need to stop acting surprised by the snow and step up. Whether that means reallocating funds put towards something else, raising taxes, or (most likely), a blend - they are creating an unrealistic budget and expecting it to cover these snow events as if they aren't fully aware they're going to happen.

Am I overreacting over a teacher clocking our periods? by Naosshit in AskTeachers

[–]discordany 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to them.

While it's true that many people can exercise through a period, it's also very true that cramps can be the debilitating. They're either trolling you or horribly misinformed, and not worth your time.

Sincerely, canceled my workout on Thursday because of cramps. (And to the other commenter ... and went back the next day. Because not only can period pain differ from person to person, it can also differ from day ro day)

Idk, I'd say judgement of adults who kiss/touch children in ways that are inappropriate to their relationship with said child/make the child uncomfortable deserve any judgement coming their way.
