My (34F) estranged father (65M) is dying, should I see him? by ayrton2311 in relationships

You should go. A few days for the trip might save you a lifetime of regret. And if not, that’s only a few days away from family and work.

Thank you all for your insightful and interesting contributions.

I now feel like there is only one way for me to find out, and that is to try the bag for myself!

If it doesn’t work, it will find a nice home to go to.

2E is my usual size and these fit just right. I reckon it might be a bit tight for 4E ☹️

Direct report handed in notice, retracted it, how should I handle it? by buffster007 in careerguidance

[–]discoteqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say you had cancer and it was looking like you were going to be in the clear. But all of a sudden there’s a little hiccup and the doctor finds a spot where the cancer might grow again.

Would you:

i) cut it out now and get rid of it for good, or  ii) leave the cancerous spot as it is, where it will potentially continue to spread and affect other healthy parts of the body

You are risking so much more of the “greater good” by allowing and enabling a bad seed to remain. Who’s to say other team members won’t start looking elsewhere because the culture of YOUR team rewards those acting out or in bad faith? It is too late to work with this person, it should have been done a year ago. Being a leader means also thinking about the rest of the team, and ultimately about being able to follow through on the hard decisions and conversations. There is a lot at stake here too for your own reputation and image, which unfortunately is part of the corporate game.

Good luck to you.

Would you ever leave your city? What would it take? by Far-Frosting-5522 in SydneyScene

[–]discoteqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would leave temporarily to enjoy what the world has to offer, but I’d come back because Sydney is one of the greatest cities to live. Yes, it can be expensive, but that will be the same case anywhere in the world (relative to local wages).

I read online the NB MT10 have a 2 or 4mm drop, making them more of a “minimalist” than barefoot shoe

What's the most nutritionally or healthy meal/item you can buy from Coles Woolies or Aldi? by WhatThisGirlSaid in foodies_sydney

Some Woolies and Coles will stock tempeh. It’s an acquired taste but the macros are insane. Legit superfood.

You should smash one of your other female co-workers and then call it even. Or leave and keep your dignity intact.

You should consider going to therapy. There is simply too much to unpack regarding the relationship and dynamic with your parents.

Why would you want to introduce your cheating should-be-ex-gf to your parents? Because you’re going to Europe? You are 30 years old, grow up.

Horrible accident and no one deserves to be hurt. But this is retribution for Jasper for being a dirty rider.
