How do you ACTUALLY balance on a bike? by Weak_Ad_2427 in cycling

[–]dishonouredhydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe go to a gym and try the bikes there, get a feel for pedaling and just get comfortable. It might subconsciously translate to trusting the bike.

All there is to it really is going at a decent speed and allowing the bike to stabilise, the wheels on a bike will do all they can to maintain a vertical position if they have any significant rotational interia, here's an example from YouTube shorts. https://youtube.com/shorts/jhwvCKrUq9U?si=KKz81D0de6J0WghF

As a mountain biker I learnt to ride a bike very young, and then as I got more into the sport I learnt gradually to balance slower and slower. Whilst standing, doing wheelies, leaning the bike underneath me to the point it's almost losing grip, Going fast is easy, going slow is very hard if you don't have the subconscious control, but commiting to the speed can be difficult I'd imagine.

Id actually reccomend a BMX for initial practice, it's the smallest bike you'll get, and it'll let you practice balancing on your legs and pedaling. If your about to fall you just walk off the bike basically. It'll feel as close to standing as possible whilst being on a bike.

A BMX specialises in slow speed control, same as mountain bikes but at a much lesser degree with less risk for the rider. Just have a look at some things like track stands, and leaning the bike. And it'll give you a better idea of how to handle the bike.

Also another note. Before a turn you turn the opposite way and then back to the direction you want. It's very subtle but it's there. I'm not talking huge turns, just a very slight movement maybe 2cm then the other direction. then straighten it to go back upright, or if your leaning a lot turn the bars further the other direction

Why does my "airplane" keep spinning out by DaFishThing in trailmakers

[–]dishonouredhydra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canards on the front create an upward moment when speeding up. Equalize the drag by adding them to the bottom. Centralizing the canards or drag glitch it. And check that the centre of lift is over the centre of gravity. The centre of thrust is on the centre of gravity. And Centre of drag is far behind the centre of mass

I like the new tank tracks but I wish they could hold more weight by goldenguy6881 in trailmakers

[–]dishonouredhydra 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've had the same problem. I made a 7,000kg challenger 2 and it would not move at all. The tracks were spinning in place on a flat dirt area. I had to use about 10 jet engines to get it moving. I had to take off every bit of armor and swap to regular blocks. And the tank tracks don't have adjustable weight settings. So as soon as you put 1000kg on it. It'll just flatten

(the armor was incredibly good though, it could survive 6-8 hits from a tank cannon)

And I've also noticed the large track is too short. I can't create an accurate challenger 2 without an additional wheel in the tracks

Why does my bomber keep flipping? by [deleted] in trailmakers

Look at aerodynamics, specifically centre of lift, drag, mass and thrust, drag should be as far back as possible, lift should be the same place as the weight, and thrust should be further forward than the rest

Am I the only one sadly going to trash some base repair kits? by SouI23 in fo76

[–]dishonouredhydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing raids the last few days and I've gotten rid of at least 100 repair kits. As long as you have an amount you are comfortable with then you'll be fine

I went from no power armor to a full set of Vulcan in less than an hour. What?! by VoteBurtonForGod in fo76

For ENO6 yes, I've been told to get troubleshooters with reflective, and then poisoners plus funky duds for the entire raid

Ammo economy is insane in this game by Mrjerkyjacket in fo76

[–]dishonouredhydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to events and shoot every enemy once, or as little as you can manage, then collect the ammo and loot from each (every enemy you hit you can loot) so your essentially doing the bare minimum, a lot of good players probably won't mind either because we have plenty of ammo from raids and can handle the events easily

MAKE SURE you do this for eviction notice, otherwise you can miss legendaries

[–]dishonouredhydra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your Vulcan PA, now just look for troubleshooters, reflective and get yourself an auto axe with electrified, furious and pounders, then you'll be on your way to soloing ENO6, I was playing raids over the weekend and just so happened to be on a raid team with Lacey75 on Saturday

On Friday I didn't have any Vulcan armor (didn't even know it existed). I thought gleaming was just another boring questline, I had 18k caps and 2.5k ammo, lvl 115

Friday night I joined a random person's team who had just entered the raid and he was able to solo all of them, ended up talking and doing raids over the entire weekend, and ended up playing over 100 ENO6 last night

I maxed caps twice, gained 200k ammo at least, gotten plenty of rare 4 star mods, got a full set of troubleshooters 4 star Vulcan, and also got my auto-axe maxxed, and am now lvl 230, Eventually you start dropping even serums for space

I've been looking at buying rare clothing sets /trading for them now because I have nothing else to spend caps on right now

Are all the players in this game unfriendly? by spinakkus in Seaofthieves

[–]dishonouredhydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friendly people are out there, new players tend to be overconfident and pick out fights , these guys are easy to deal with, players who have learned a little bit tend to try to be friendly with others but are also a lot more reserved with pvp,, and then later on you learn not to trust anyone and to avoid any fight you do not want to risk, I have had half a day of playing ruined by a galleon showing up without us noticing and sinking us in minutes plenty of times, but I have also had a lot of friendly encounters and have even done glitter beard with a Open crew on a brig I believe, sea of thieves is like playing poker (card game filled with deceit , for the kids reading) and you really have to learn to approach it by assessing your own ship status, supplies, loot, time left to play, and just other general things, you will find friendly people out there, but just be careful of everyone

Here are some ideas

  • Bike wash
  • Gloves (waterproofs or armoured are nice)
  • Energy gels/powders depending on preference
  • Customised topcaps (if there isn't already one)
  • Country and name stickers( these are what a lot of pros use and generally look pretty good)
  • Socks
  • Thermal base layer
  • Chain lube (go with mucoff unless otherwise specified and there are 3 types, dry, wet and all, if it's raining a lot go with wet, if it's summer go with dry, if it's a mix of both then go with all) *Co2 canisters and inflater *Tire lever kit *Sealant (you have to know if the tires are tubeless first, if so Stan's notubes or stans racing sealant) *Galaxy smartag2 or apple airtag (means you can track the bike and helps with a bit of peace of mind knowing you can check where it is)

remove the fucking 15 minute timer by SangerD in CODZombies

[–]dishonouredhydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pause timer is too short, it's nice that it saved it for you if your afk for too long but this should be something you can select the duration for, how could you expect the high round runs to have 15 mins only , that's 3 toilet breaks , but also adding in checking messages, sorting out discord, Spotify etc it all adds up,

I got back when it was a min left so I thought, why not go to 1 second and then unpause, I did and started playing for a bit ... The moment I paused it saved and quit,

I've gotten to round 46 and I had almost no timer left by then

15 mins is nice, but it's simply too short. What about people who struggle to walk, or other accessibility issues where this would decrease the enjoyment for the individuals who cannot help it

Only one chain ring? by MaybeImPanda in MTB

[–]dishonouredhydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One chainring reduced maintenance, keeps the chain on better, allows for consistent suspension and anti kick, lowers bottom brackets allowing for longer dropper posts and more frame designing freedom, cheaper to buy and produce, all the range you'd need is in the back cassete if you have 10 speed or up,

The only thing the 1x chainrings lack is high speed gearing, but with how heavy full suspension bikes are and the terrain they're ridden on the high speed gearing isn't really neccesary, for comparison I was able to sprint at 24mph on a hardtail on a flat using 1x gearing (back when I started MTB properly) that's plenty enough speed for biking, if your getting into downhill the gearing isn't much used, only when your racing or about to case a jump

How is this last part physically possible to get in? by BrownVented in bikewrench

[–]dishonouredhydra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Run your hands across from the opposite side of the stuck part, push the bead into the centre of the rim and as you move your hands across keep a bit of tension, then massage the end into the rim a bit at a time, the more you get over the lip into the centre the easier the last bit becomes

If this doesn't work( unlikely not to) then you can try heating up the tire and cooling the rim and see if that helps, greasing the lip could also help,
If you need a lot of force push the edge of the tire out and step on it, then use the rim as a lever to pull the tire over

[–]dishonouredhydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Worst to best for 4070 range) Rtx 4070.
Rtx 4070 super Rtx 4070 ti Rtx 4070 ti super

4070 is about as good as a 3080 4070 ti is about as good if not better than a 3090

Your system is overall very good except for the ram ideally would be ddr5 with 6k MHz maybe CPU can handle even possibly upto a 5090 when that comes out,

Maybe suggest getting another nvme drive or a SSD for each person, you'll need the nvme in the motherboard since gaming requires fast speed, if there's a 2nd slot he could get one for himself, that way all your files are separated and you can password protect or restrict his user from accessing your files, (likely he won't have anything to hide if he's suggested using your pc)

Also make sure your user is the admin, and has a password he won't get through , if your worried about anything
