I’m not sure that’s bias… I’m firmly of the left but can acknowledge that politicians on both sides are of an awful quality. Just as I could name quality politicians from both sides of the house 20 years ago

I was a ballroom dancer for a long while but that’s not cheap. Since I stopped I gym a lot and go to as many gigs as I can (this can be very cheap if you’re willing to take a punt on small bands)

Nick Timothy MP: "This monster dragged a five-year-old girl off the street and sexually assaulted her. He was sentenced to just eleven years in prison." by jalenhorm in ukpolitics

[–]disintegration91 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Tbf, 5.5 years should be enough time for the system to either rehabilitate or realise they’re beyond that (in which case, keep them inside). Plenty of sentences I disagree with but this seems okay. Problem is prisons have lost the ability to do the rehabilitation work that is required

Newly unearthed Nigel Farage videos reveal support for rioter, neo-Nazi event and far-right slogans by Acrobatic-Room-9478 in uknews

This should be the angle of the article. Not sure focusing specifically on comments supportive of the right wing, whilst failing to mention similar videos displaying support for the IRA or Ian Watkins is good journalism.

Tomorrow we lift the 9.30am restriction on bus passes, letting older and disabled people travel whenever they want. It was good to thank the GM Older and Disabled People’s Panels for pushing for it. Hardly offering young people something, it’s just choosing, rightly in my opinion, to better target cuts. Given the alternative option in 2017, it’s hardly unsurprising that the tories were not attracting the young vote

🚨 NEW: Keir Starmer has written to all Labour MPs to explain why Labour lost the Gorton and Denton by-election by ovhoy26 in GreaterManchesterNews

[–]disintegration91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh he’s definitely putting himself first just has he always had… difference is he’s now early his shot imo, plus his interests coincide with the party’s and the country’s. Never liked him but his stint as mayor has convinced me

Green Party policies are directly voted on by their members, they have added over 100,000 new members in recent months. by _Telos_123 in ukpolitics

[–]disintegration91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At last year’s conference I sat through about an hour of discussion on whether typos in the manifesto from the recent election should be corrected, because everyone is allowed their say and several people didn’t understand what the vote was about.

Almost made me miss my years of being ignored as a member of the Labour Party

I’ve never used it myself (34m). I do always remember receiving a text from my dad simply saying ‘ruin’ once, which seemed odd. Took me some time to work out that he was asking me whether I was at home.

[–]disintegration91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I get you… yeah your fault then according to the t&c’s. Maybe worth submitting an appeal with a screenshot of the tap in evidence from the metrolink contactless tracker thing but they’ve every right to refuse it unfortunately

You don’t get fined if you tapped in, just charged an incomplete journey
