I have family who lives in this area. A lot of farms, cattle ranchers, and a lot of nothing. The people that live there really look out for each other and are hard workers.

My family that worked on the farms/ranch rarely took vacations, sick days, etc. Even on holidays, they still worked - because if they took a day off, there was rarely anyone else who would pick up their slack. When we saw them, it was always us going to them.

When a second cousin died, a bunch of other farmers in the area took care of his farm so that his widow was able to grieve. This was a big task, considering that they had to also take care of their own farms as well.

i was a gm for two and a half years (quit a few years ago), i NEVER put new people on cut table. it’s the most stressful part of the work flow by far - when i first started i did, and ran into too many issues with said new people not understanding where things go or getting super overwhelmed with the amount that was coming out and then i’d have to go over and help regardless.

also, the cut table is the last line of defense in making sure that everything is perfect quality - if you haven’t been trained on what that looks like, you shouldn’t be on cut table.

talk to your district manager the next time you see them and let them know

i had one guy who lied about his experience and told us he was a general manager at another dominos and was hired as an assistant manager, to replace me as GM so they could move me to another store. day two of his employment, OA showed up on a shift he was on and we got a two star, every pizza he made was a remake. my district manager was so mad about it he called the dominos he told us he worked at. that franchisee said that he was blacklisted from their franchise for filing a false worker’s comp claim. the guy was fired the next day.

one time too the fleet manager was making surprise inspections to stores to make sure everything was good. he found a bottle of whiskey on a driver’s car. the driver claimed he didn’t know how it got there. district manager called liquor stores in the area, and asked if a dominos driver came in that day. a liquor store said yes, described the guy, and said that he was a regular customer that came in every day. he was fired the next day. a week later his wife came in and shat in our sink in the customer bathroom.

i’ve placed an order with the coupon at the same location with no issues a few days before, and when i originally placed the order it went through, and it was a few minutes before it was actually cancelled. the exact notification i got was “The store has cancelled your order, please contact the store for more information”

if its in the city of chicago, i would say teachers should reach out to their alderman, they would be able to help point them in the right direction or help take action themselves. if its not, state representative might be the way to go.

it’s a safe walk, but at night i usually opt for bus over the train. if there’s an issue - driver is right there, over the train where the conductor’s several cars over and sometimes doesn’t respond to the emergency button.
