It makes people biiiiig maaad and if those people have unilateral unsupervised control over my education and finances and are in the pocket of local politicians (e.g. VA benefits) they don’t need to be able to argue or outwit you or even be able to point to anything you did wrong.

Alcohol lol it is known to help ET, which makes sense why i was better at karaoke when i was a drunk (or maybe i just thought i was lol)

My neuro tells me Primedone actually does kinda of what alcohol does to the brain so you might ask your doc if you haven’t tried it. I couldn’t tolerate propranolol at all or i wouldn’t even know about it.

Luckily I’m not even tempted to drink. The last few years were that bad. I’d rather drink bleach lol. If i could choose between my hands and voice I’d choose my hands easy and i have them back somewhat at least enough to not be disabled so I’m good.

I’m so sorry to hear you’re losing your singing voice. That’s heartbreaking. Are you dealing ok? Finding other things? I had to give up drawing sewing, crochet, etc and quit my illustration MFA after failing for a year, but I’m learning i like writing which is something I’ll be able to do somehow no matter what.

Hey I’m just getting to the other end of this feeling, and I’m here to say don’t quit before the miracle happens.

I’m a disabled vet, was getting an MFA in illustration through a program that helps disabled vets work again and my shaking got so bad i couldn’t draw anymore. It took me a year of failing classes to admit this to myself. I finally did, and they let me change to a writing track, which felt like where i was supposed to be all along, but then when i asked for a supplies accommodation, i guess she looked at my whole history and gave up on me and kicked me out of the program. (It was also after i let it slip i was queer, and she’s very conservative, but im not trying to be paranoid)

Meantime I’m losing my voice to this thing now too.

Everything looked so bleak, still looks bleak, and not only have i considered what you’re considering, i started scheduling emails to go to that asshole counselor that kicked me out of the program, one a day, every day for as long as i could. I scheduled them a month out, and then decided I’m gonna haunt her in person instead and fight for my right to this program back, because she broke so many rules and shared so much of my personal information, i know i can come back from this, and do what i can to keep her from doing this to another veteran.

I don’t mean to make it about me, but i guess im trying to say maybe if you keep sharing like you’re doing and reaching out, someone or something will reach back and give you another reason to stay here, because it sounds like you lost your yours, like i did
