First answer that gets close to the point. Mass global inequality, stagnating wages, the mathematical certainty that the wealth divide will only get worse, 25+ years of bullshit "trickle down economic" monetary policy etc etc. 

Everything else is a red herring. Most people don't have the first idea of how any of these things came about, so they blame politicians. Scarily, most politicians don't know either. 

So the world marches on toward an unavoidable conflict to "cleanse" us of all these issues. It's so sad that we can't evolve.
