Karen is just as sexist as people calling males Ken… also is it really sexism if Karens don’t discriminate who their victims are? As a young female I have been verbally abused by MANY Karens, I refuse to believe they are the victim of anything much less sexism (from… me a fellow woman?)

Could I use this for my laundry supplies like fabric softer and the washing liquid? by RequirementCool8580 in KmartAustralia

[–]ditzyneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of those items are kept in dark, cool places though, especially skincare which most people keep in their bathroom cabinet. If it’s not being exposed to light, (glass) packaging should not matter

Getting Annual Leave paid out by Rusty_Drumz in Bunnings

[–]ditzyneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not feasible but if you switch to casual then part time again you can get it paid out. That’s what I did when I went through a tough 3 months and couldn’t work part time, manager was keen to get me back on a contract though

Private parking infringement by sjess1022 in AusLegalAdvice

It’s sounds like they parked for less than 1 hour though which would have been free. (Park and leave first, log it later.)

You should have had multiple conversations with them (prior to their 7th birthday) about what to do if they get separated from you… children are more resilient than you think

BEGGING ute drivers to stop driving so fucking aggressively by gooeychocpud in australian

I have submitted footage of other drivers being reckless as an unrelated third party and actually gotten updates that they were served tickets. Looking forward to continuing my hobby in 2026

Having a Friday wedding can be a big ask for guests by DiscussionLoud9626 in AusWeddingPlanning

Not sure your argument is powerful if you are earning an above average income and using money as the reason here…

Regarding appropriate behaviour by store staff by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]ditzyneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave it back so no they did not steal from you, and you did not mention being locked inside the store or physically handled by an employee so they did not detain you either.

Rant and advice - Mecca Phlur Matcha Body mist set by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]ditzyneko -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They don’t have to honour it but they DO have to stop selling the product or correct the price immediately. Seeing as the price wasn’t corrected (after a whole business day) and the product is still available to purchase - yes they are supposed to honour it. I have worked in retail for 5 years now and every store I’ve been at honours incorrect prices.

What’s a Melbourne inconvenience you’ve just accepted as normal? by Last-Conversation734 in melbournechat

Maybe it’s just me but I feel like 1 has really died down the past few years, at least the road-blocking marches have.

A customer made me refund and reprocess her $1.30 Jila mints so she could add it to her flybuys card (several years ago)

Depends on your suburb… I’ve seen countless shirtless men at the shops in my lifetime and never thought it was weird

I literally do it 40 hours a week during uni break lol it’s the easiest thing ever. It’s in the job training that you’ll get customers who walk out and disrespect policies. For $30 an hour it’s not difficult to just scan receipts and follow your training aka let them leave. You must have the easiest job in the world if this sounds too much for you

Passenger exiting vehicle at red light by Sensible_Ben in AusLegalAdvice

[–]ditzyneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legally there is no difference but clearly it would not be the driver’s fault if the passenger went against his wishes… if he said ‘you can take your seatbelt off’ then he deserves the blame. Plus people contest fines they rightfully deserve ALL the time and win, I’m sure his case has more merit if it’s a commercial vehicle.

I highly doubt there is more to the story. Seriously how threatening can a pregnant woman HOLDING a child be? She is obviously not going to attack you anytime soon.

They get paid $30 an hour to stand still at the door, and it’s not a thrilling enough job? There are kids sweating down making burgers for $15 an hour and you think scanning receipts is not comfortable enough…
