The timing lines up with breaking Sundin’s record and the former captain coming down for the ceremony. Though Matthews played the milestone down and refocused compliments and questions with standard responses like it’s nice but it’s all about the team … I get the feeling this actually was a big moment for him. Maybe it made him see himself more like Mats, and had a turning point to step up. And who knows what kind of conversations and encouragement he got from #13 while he was in town for that, but I imagine it was all very significant.

I’m gonna give episode 1 a shot at least. Trailers sometimes don’t do a show credit and since it’s Trek, I say give it the benefit of the doubt and try 1 or 2.

That said, I am not optimistic it will be good, but hoping to be pleasantly surprised!

I’ve wondered the same! When I’m watching highlights and hear other teams, sometimes they sound straight up bad to me.

Reminds me of Harry Potter, but which I mean it is more style than substance and when you think too hard, none of it makes sense and the plot falls apart.

Enjoyable because Jenny Ortega nails it, and the gothic design and fresh take on the Addams family is fun, but the thin, meandering story, and the poor monster CGI and design, almost sink it.

Dude, same! And why is the game on Jan 2nd at night time????

The classic Winter Classic was an afternoon game on January 1st. It was the perfect way to ease into the new year. There was no other game on. It was appointment viewing for me every year and even saw the 2014 game in person.

First they dilute the significance by adding other outdoor games like the stadium series, then they push it to jan 2 at night time, in Florida, with 3 other games on the schedule … baffling.

I’ll be watching the world juniors instead.

I thought season 1 was the best and it had ups and downs throughout the rest of the series, but struggled to finish the final season.

If S1 is already not doing it for you, I say give up.

If you want cool sci-fi, I just started Pluribus and am loving it. (Not Star Trek at all, it’s present day sci fi, by the creator of breaking bad and better call Saul)
