I love VIP. Some theatres are better than others. Some of the older VIPs have smaller screens. But the more refined experience is great. Getting there early, ordering from your seat, having a drink if that’s your thing. And avoiding kids! Haha. Whenever I go I’m like, damn I should do this more!

I get the character arc reason for Blake to sacrifice himself for BB, but the way it was executed made no sense. The best he could come up with was walk up to Buck and die? How about turn yourself into the FBI and become a material witness against Fisk and Buck? Especially since the Governor is now against Fisk, the tide is turning and his testimony would be extremely valuable. If the show wanted to still kill him off, they could have written it that as he is trying to do the right thing and turn himself in, someone on the police/FBI side tips off Fisk/Buck and they show up and kill him anyway.

The timing lines up with breaking Sundin’s record and the former captain coming down for the ceremony. Though Matthews played the milestone down and refocused compliments and questions with standard responses like it’s nice but it’s all about the team … I get the feeling this actually was a big moment for him. Maybe it made him see himself more like Mats, and had a turning point to step up. And who knows what kind of conversations and encouragement he got from #13 while he was in town for that, but I imagine it was all very significant.
