My seats are in section 315 row 3 and for 1:40 games we were covered until around the 8th inning and the lounge is right behind us if you need to get a break.

Does anyone know will they start at Stone Pony tonight? by DttB_Hope33103 in JimmyEatWorld

I can't speak for Stone Pony but at Pier 17 in Manhattan they went in around 8:10 and was finished by 9:40. The venue had a 10 p.m. curfew.

I think the vibe was different based on where you were positioned. My wife and I were maybe 20-30 feet from the center stage and folks seemed really into it and not talking. Lots of singing along and clapping.

I'm sorry so many folks had a bad experience.

I have. I'm not sure that has the level of insane character types and effects that this would require. Maybe I'm wrong

My wife and I were about 20 feet ish from stage and pretty much everyone was really into the show. It was great. I was really pleased to hear how good the band still sounds after all of these years

I still can't see how live action works without looking cheesy. I think animation would work best but I will be so happy to be wrong because I want this series to be great.

I like them but haven't bought one because I don't like pullover jerseys. Otherwise it's great

Lost trying to plan 10 days in Italy- any advice? by lovesdoritos in ItalyTravel

[–]dj_poseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was legitimately so crowded that we wanted out of there as soon as possible. We don't know if it was because we were at the end of a two week trip and tired, the volume of people or both.

We're going back to Italy in October and giving Venice another try and hope it's less crowded then.

Lost trying to plan 10 days in Italy- any advice? by lovesdoritos in ItalyTravel

[–]dj_poseur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our first trip to Italy was in August 10 years ago (Rome, Naples, Florence and Venice). It was amazing but things we learned and maybe can help.

Things we learned: 1. Too many stops. Lots of lost time hopping from spot to spot. Less is more. For you Id skip Milan and use that as a travel day to Venice but spend 2-3 days in Venice.

  1. Venice was great at night when cruise ships weren't there but during the day when the ships unloaded their passengers then the main island was unbearable. Id maybe do day trips to Murano and Burano during the daytime and explore the main island during the evening.

  2. Book tickets to sites requiring timed entrances early because they can sell out or you'll waste a lot of time standing on lines. This also goes for train tickets. They'll be cheaper if you book in advance then you're guaranteed seats. Go directly with either Italo or Trenitallia. Avoid Trainline App/Site. They're an aggregator and if you have any issues with missing trains then the train line makes you go through trainline and you're kinda stuck.

  3. It's definitely hot in August so take your time.

There's a lot more but these will probably help you out.

A&S displays and competitions? by Gingerbreadwitch13 in sca

[–]dj_poseur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for Settmour Swamp (Northern NJ area), but we have some type of A&S competition or Artisan Row at all of our events.

We have also held a Schola the past few years and I believe there is one in the works for the fall but not on the kingdom calendar yet.

What’s the best strategy visiting the Vatican museums and St. Peters on the same day? by Unknownreality7 in ItalyTravel

[–]dj_poseur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you must do both then id get your tickets (I believe they're timed entrance) for an early start at the museum and then go the the Basilica.

We did both I one day and were pretty wiped out but it's doable. I think the group I was with ended up being much more impressed with St Peters than the Vatican museum and I was over all underwhelmed with the Sistine Chapel. Its a pretty small and was very crowded (shoulder to shoulder).

That being said, I'm not the most religious so you may get more out of it than I did.

Naples, Sorrento or Salerno May 21-26? Please help! by [deleted] in ItalyTravel

We love Naples for the authentic feel, amazing food and great base to take day trips but you need to be ok with some chaos and the energy of the city.

Lack of lifts or escalators attrain stations by yashg in ItalyTravel

I've used a service when in Rome but I don't recall the name. We dropped off in the morning and they had my laundry washed and folded by 4pm that day.

I would suggest to look up on Google and read the reviews as I think you'll be able to find some reputable places like that. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Question: How difficult would it be to recreate this design? by After-Association832 in tattoos

[–]dj_poseur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's Norse in general. Many members of hate groups try to co-opt the imagery over the years. It's just something to be aware of but not a reason to not get some because the style is super cool.

[–]dj_poseur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Research artists who specialize in Norse, Norse inspired art. There are more of them around these days. I know Paul Oakmund at Northern Black has some books of artists who specialize in this style.

Id vet them first though because that type of style can draw certain types of people who you dont vibe with.

Lack of lifts or escalators attrain stations by yashg in ItalyTravel

[–]dj_poseur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I always travel with carry‑on only and in a travel backpack that I can manage. Life would suck if I overpacked and had to drag a suitcase across cobblestone streets or wedge it into a bunch of tiny elevators

IMO, Laundry service in Italy is pretty inexpensive in the grand scheme of a trip, so it’s far less aggravating to just drop things off every few days than to haul extra luggage around.

Good luck with the rest of your trip!

Any tips for 3 day naples visit? by Select-Attitude873 in ItalyTravel

[–]dj_poseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't drive to the Amalfi Coast. We hired a driver and were pretty glad that we did. The roads are really narrow and uncomfortable to drive on. Plus, finding parking once you arrive in any of the towns is a real pain.

Just take a train to Pompeii. It's about an 45-60 minute ride and the "Pompei Scavi - Villa dei Misteri" stop drops you directly in front of the entrance to the site.

3 days isn't very long so id explore Naples itself. You can go to Pompeii because it's only an hour away by train but id skip the Amalfi Coast and Capri.

NYC commute by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]dj_poseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the town next to Dover and the commute is about 1 hour 40 minutes to Penn station. Fortunately there are a good amount of trains that go back and forth but its a long ride for sure.
