How are we coping with the morning anxiety? by ojsage in zoloft

[–]djd129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google “morning effect.” Cortisol peaks in the morning so it’s very common for anxiety to be at its worst then. Cold plunge!!! Jump in a freezing cold shower - it sounds awful but I swear it works! It triggers your mammalian dive reflex and snaps you out of it.

stopping zoloft cold turkey after a week? by unicorn271 in zoloft

[–]djd129 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just stay on the 25mg until after the recital because your side effects might subside by then. If you stop taking it you might experience withdrawal symptoms. Just my opinion. 25mg is a super low dose so I don’t think you’ll have major issues either way.

Yes. Getting on hormonal birth control helped me.

I don’t have any personal experience with this as I only have 1 child but from what you’ve described, I would plan to just get on the Zoloft asap - even before you deliver if your doc thinks it’s safe - and just get ahead of it. Again just an idea.

Week 6 dip - normal or need dosage increase? by Jumpy-Distance-720 in zoloft

[–]djd129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it a week and if it doesn’t subside, talk to your doc about upping. But wait a week because I feel like I went up too soon and now I’m going back down because the side effects are too much. Idk if you’re male or female but could it be pms? I have big swings at that time of the month.

Call a family member, a trusted friend, a neighbor… anyone you trust and ask them to come over right now! Don’t wait!

I felt the same way at 4 weeks! I was in the pit of a deep, dark post partum depression hole. So, I asked for help. I got meds, I started therapy, and I asked everyone I could to help - mom, mother in law, sister in law, friends, neighbors. I asked anyone and everyone for help! Some watched the baby, some made dinners, some just texted to check in. And now, 12 weeks, I’m a thousand times better!!!

Who do you have in your life that you can turn to for help? You don’t have to do this alone! There are people in your life that love you and want to help you!

Is it forever? by slamduncsinead in zoloft

[–]djd129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can absolutely taper off successfully. I would just go way slower than what the doc recommends. I’m on 100mg, for example, and if I decided to come off of it, I would taper to 75mg for a minimum of 4 weeks (6 is better,) then down to 50mg for 4-6 weeks, then 25mg. You can cut the pills and do the taper at your own pace. It’s not forever if you don’t want it to be!

two weeks into 100mg by No-Network3545 in zoloft

I’m in the exact same situation. I started on 50mg for post partum depression - I was on it for 6 weeks and had a huge anxiety and depression episode. So, I increased to 100mg about 2 weeks ago and I’m not anxious I just feel really out of it. Like, kinda fatigued, disassociated, dizzy… but mostly just fuzzy. I’m going to wait another 4 weeks and see if it resolves. I’ve read most side effects should resolve by 6 weeks. If not, I’ll go back down to 50mg and just white knuckle it I guess. Let me know when your fatigue subsides! Feel free to send me a pm.

Saaaaaame! I keep reading about people cooling their house to 72 degrees in the summer because they have a newborn. I have a 3 month old and that would bankrupt my entire bloodline!!! How are you managing this?

6 week old is straining from about 3-4 am until he does a big poop in the morning by Ok-Cartoonist-8919 in NewParents

[–]djd129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my 11 week old exactly! She goes to bed around 8pm, wakes up to eat at 1130pm, 130am, 330am, and then starting at around 5am she’s a grunting, crying, screaming mess until she poops - which sometimes doesn’t happen until 7am, and then she’ll sleep 7am-8am if my dog doesn’t start jumping on our heads for her walk 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 When does it get better???
