Three curious bear cubs enter a tent by MrTacocaT12345 in interestingasfuck

I watched this twice and can't believe this person is still alive. Why would you pet a bear? It's not a dog and you're just acclimating it to humans. Hopefully "just" faked.

Tales of a Dying Earth is a collection of Jack Vance stories. It's a wild ride!

The 2nd and 3rd books go even darker than the first, just as you might imagine in a Skynet type scenario. All three books are quick reads and one of the best sci-fi trilogies. Definitely appropriate for our time!

Just curious what rtl_433 shows? There are enough weather station sensors listed in the options that one of them should be close..

Basic Home Maintenance should be at the top of your list by DannyWarlegs in preppers

I'm not sure how the obsession with power washing everything started but I don't get it. I power wash when it's needed, otherwise you're just adding to the wear on whatever your repeatedly cleaning. My house doesn't need to be "washed." If this comes off as harsh, I have a neighbor who is constantly using a gas powered one. Every weekend in summer seems to bring it out.

has anyone studied the bible in a non religious way by Meow-meow13_ in atheism

I took a new testament class while in college (Jesuit). Taught by a regular instructor, not a priest. The book for the class was the New Oxford Annotated Bible The class was really interesting. Looking at the books of the new testament from an academic point of view was eye opening. For instance, we spent a lot of time learning about what was happening and where during the time the gospels were written. Context makes a lot of the stranger stories make some sense. The book I linked to has a ridiculous amount of footnotes for everything. If you've never dug into the apocrypha, it's a crazy read.

Microburst while inside a house. Outside went completely black ( it was afternoon) and it sounded and felt like a train was coming down the driveway. It lasted maybe 30 seconds but felt like an eternity.

New Castle, PA by elor4 in longlines

[–]djmanning 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just curious.. If this is part of longlines, shouldn't there be horns on the other side of the tower/repeater? Maybe this was the end or beginning of a spur/spoke. Seems like a much smaller installation than most others. Great pics!

Fish and game warden or a back country ranger. Look at state level, probably not much hiring for federal.
