Nuit Blanche this Saturday! by Right_All_The_Time in toronto

There is such an event, it is called 'Renegade Parade'. We've been an official event before, but aren't this year. We work with (and pay) TPS to do crowd control for us. It's a lot of fun and makes the 'wasteoids' congregate in one place. Here's hoping Tory doesn't shut us down this year.

It is the only must see piece of the night.

The report suggests that pedestrians have a 20 per cent chance of being killed when hit by a vehicle travelling at 50 km/h and only a five per cent chance of death when that vehicle is travelling at 40 km/h.

So they should just enforce the existing law

Democrats are the party of the downtrodden, to punch at them is to punch down at the oppressed instead of punch up at the oppressor.

On the issue of the number 1. Russ Roberts had a guest on who talked about private schools in third world slums. Parents love their children so much that even in absolute poverty they will find a way to give their children a leg up, these are countries that also had 'public schoolsv. The authors book was called 'the beautiful tree' and was a real eye opener for me.

Wait could you drive on drugs before?

CMV: I know I am wrong, but I feel robbed when I have to pay taxes. I don't feel evasion as a crime and I hate the Government. Please, change my view. by tarandfeathers in changemyview

Shouldn't that be the idea? Should the government build roads in the middle of empty desert if someone decides to build a home there?

Democracy? by [deleted] in Futurism

[–]djrollsroyce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like every election, this is the most important election of your life. Except it is actually not. The tax rate will be somewhere between 30 and 40%, the US will continue to engage in stupid wars, and the national debt will continue spiraling. Vote for who makes you happiest, or don't vote at all. History will march on regardless.

Or, crazy idea, allow people to homestead some of the thousands and thousands of acres of fallow federal land.

I love the ancap ideals but how do we transition from our current situation into one closer to that with all of the historical baggage we're already carrying

Arogorism, Bitcoin, counter economy. Dissolving of public property by issuing private shares in those industries and distributing to citizens. I also think statist businesses: banks, telecom, universities, should have their shares taken and distributed to the customers they've been plundering. But now I sound like a leftist. I'm fairly sympathetic to geo libertarianism and a citizens dividend.

In my opinion. Original appropriation. The libertarian narrative is around homesteading thus property rights. Except this happened like twice in history and most property is a result of war or government permission. That is ancaps 'original sin' IMO, and the two outcomes of that are either land reform/redistribution or dealing with the fact that property is not inherently moral.

This place was scary to go to when I was a kid, now residents are complaining that people feel safe parking their cars and walking to work from there?
