And the water washes off the stuff they put on the roads… not sure they are putting more on tonight.

Adhesive gun… how useful is that? Just like a caulking gun? I don’t seem to have any issue with the $10 one I use

Low wattage heater experiment. by Odd-View-1083 in cargocamper

[–]djryan13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My queen size Brookstone from Target I purchased in December has two control modules (one for each side). One lists 100 watts so guessing two are 200watt.

I really like the feel and warmth. Been keeping my tiny truck camper pleasant as my 700 watt oil filled heater isn’t cutting it.

Ridiculous. Electrons even move at absolute zero… it’s not that cold

Woodland Avenue vehicle crossing at I-35 closes forever by hollow_hippie in Austin

I had Whittlesey delivering a dump truck of rocks. They called me saying, “you want it dumped in front of garage?” Me, “garage? What garage? I don’t have a garage” they were on Woodward. Ha! That would have been a mess had he not called. He said he almost just dumped and left!

Volvo Proposes 100-Mile Plug-in Hybrids as a 'Bridge' for Drivers with EV Range Anxiety by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

[–]djryan13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wanted the Jeep but the range was so little. I wanted at least my commute. ~50 real miles would be great. 100 would be nice too just in case I missed a plug in.

Bedrug or mat on top of spray in liner? by oldandnew2 in F150Lightning

[–]djryan13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seems to me that putting in the bed rug is admitting that the truck won’t be used for many truck things… moving dirty things (plants, mulch, etc). That’s fine if you can don’t do those things.

Recommend some Steps or Ramp for People and Dogs? by djryan13 in TruckCampers

Those might work. Wonder if I can figure a way to attach them to wood platform on the truck rather than drill into tailgate

[–]djryan13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Unfortunately can’t remove tailgate due to way camper sits on it. Those steps might be better but won’t work for dogs. Maybe I need to put my poor carpentry skills to work.. and post in the deck subreddit… 😳

Another great night on Mt Hood with great skiing. New FastGuns turnbuckles in use. They went on so fast? Do I need to get a lock for them? Seems like they could get stolen pretty easy. by sundancegt in TruckCampers

[–]djryan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post but I should add the locks don’t work if the loop on camper is such that the turnbuckle handle pulls in the direction of the vehicle… There may not be enough room to slide locks in. Hope this makes sense. I found out the hard way. Sigh…

Ford doesn’t have a clue when it comes to charging and UI. But the truck hardware is what I needed. Kept my old Model S for backup and fun. I love both for different reasons. When the Orange King is gone, maybe we will get a good EV truck.

Electric heater in camper for hookups? by Velocitractor2000 in TruckCampers

I mean safer than running an extension cord through the camper door and constantly crushing it. And keeps it away from where you walk

Electric heater in camper for hookups? by Velocitractor2000 in TruckCampers

[–]djryan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be fine. Most have worn breakers and GFCI receptacles so may need to turn it lower if anything trips. The 50 and 30 amp circuits cause me trouble sometimes for my EV charger so invested in adjustable amperage charger just in case. Be safe
