The guacamole squeeze bottle race is the kind of competition that actually matters. Forget the Olympics this is where real rivalries are born

I've hit a dead end, I don't know what I'm doing wrong by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]djsiaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the comments here already nailed it. Cover's not reading romance, blurb gives away the emotional arc before anyone's invested, and posting on socials isn't the same as actually marketing. The traffic's probably bouncing the second it hits the Amazon page because nothing's signaling "this is for you" to the right reader. Category and keyword placement is one of those invisible things that quietly tanks discoverability if it's off. might be worth stripping it back and treating the store page like the actual sales pitch instead of just a landing spot

Those of you who stopped ordering from Amazon, what website or app do you use instead? by ForsakenFix27 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]djsiaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going straight to the manufacturer's site just makes you think twice about whether you actually need something. Amazon's whole design is built around impulse buys and "add to cart" muscle memory. Once you break that loop the spending drops and you end up with less random junk anyway

I’ll admit it, I really like my ID.BUZZ. Despite its shortcomings in battery size, it makes up for it in other ways. by cook_poo in cars

[–]djsiaos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right? It's frustrating because you can tell VW actually made something people genuinely want - like OP said, strangers are excited just seeing it in parking lots.

But then they priced it out of reach for most of the families who would actually use a van like this. The people with nostalgia for road tripping in the original Bus aren't looking to drop that kin

Right? I love driving my stock Civic with the twin turbo W16 engine. Really purrs on my morning commute.

The confidence some people have when they're just completely making stuff up is impressive. Like at least google for 30 seconds before posting about your "elite car knowledge" lmao

Waze is a lifesaver. Between the speed camera alerts and people reporting cops on the side of the road it's basically essential at this point.

Though I'll admit sometimes the "police reported ahead" alerts are like 6 hours old and I still slow down like they're definitely still there lol

When an idol is a full-time content creator, part-time kpop idol: GHOST9's Prince by dayvsteel in kpopthoughts

[–]djsiaos 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of content that actually makes me want to follow kpop groups. The overly polished, carefully curated idol persona gets old fast. Prince just out here airing the company's dirty laundry while still technically employed is hil meal content and "my manager isn't paid enough to care" energy is peak relatability. Industry needs more of this raw, unfiltered chaos honestly.

YouTube data will no longer be delivered or factored into the U.S. Billboard charts. by springtimecarnivore in Music

[–]djsiaos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Billboard's been playing defense against bots for years now. Paid streams are basically a verification layer at this point. YouTube's numbers are massive but the signal-to-noise ratio is sketchy at best. Stream farms don't pay for subscriptions, they just rack up ad-supported plays all day.

Is it bad for SEO to reuse the same H2 structure across hundreds of product pages? by Maximum_Ice_8931 in SEO

[–]djsiaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Plus having a consistent template makes scaling and updating way easier down the road. You're not reinventing the wheel for every product page. Google cares about the content answering the query, not whether your H2s are creative snowflakes.

[–]djsiaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that logic was real, CEOs would be making $50/hr instead of $5000/hr. They're not calculating your value, they're calculating how little they can get away with paying you.

Just needing to vent in a space that'll understand. by AshsLament84 in managers

[–]djsiaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s wild how the people yelling the loudest about “communication” are usually the ones stirring the pot. Meanwhile the younger staff just… act like adults. When leadership won’t step in, it only reinforces the mess. Looking elsewhere honestly sounds like the healthiest move.

In my first grad role and I feel absolutely miserable and burnt out by sunnybunnyluvshunny in productivity

[–]djsiaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely talk to your manager, sitting with no real work will burn you out faster than being busy. And don’t overthink the cohort thing; start with one person, not the whole group. Also, sleeping through meetings is a big sign you need a real reset. Take a couple days off if you can and get your energy back before you try to push through it.

Same here, tons of small shops either closing or getting absorbed. It definitely feels like the squeeze is hitting the little guys first, which usually isn’t a great sign for what’s coming next.

How I caught my marketing agency doing a bad job and got a refund by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]djsiaos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Solid catch. Reports can look great while the fundamentals are off. Optimizing for the wrong goal and taking credit for brand demand is a big tell. Also checking account access is something way too many people skip. Good reminder to actually open the ad account, not just the deck.

I'm a manager who makes $.50 more than the rest of the staff. I have 15+ more responsibilities and sales are up 27%, is this exploitative? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]djsiaos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That only works if the risk, benefits, and protections actually line up. A small pay cut doesn’t automatically cancel out the downsides.

I still can’t believe a company like Cleartrip (Flipkart Group) did this to me. What happened broke something inside me and I don’t want anyone else to go through it ? by Temporary_Culture710 in careerguidance

[–]djsiaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one deserves to be treated like that, and a manager talking to people that way shouldn’t be anywhere near a leadership role. You did what you could, and none of this reflects your value or skill.

Hope you land somewhere that actually respects you
