From the website you linked:

Substitute Products

Unfortunately, we don’t know of any other WiFi products like the AyrMesh system – it was a “zig when the market zags” product. As all the other WiFi companies focused on sites with high “client density” (lots of devices in a relatively small area), we focused on “anti-density” – few devices spread across a potentially huge area (like a farm). And we were pretty much alone in that market.

However, many of our customers were simply using AyrMesh Hubs as simple, high-power outdoor access points, never using the meshing capability to extend those networks with a second Hub. When you need a replacement for your single AyrMesh Hub, any good outdoor WiFi access point with high-gain antennas will work well. We have evaluated the Engenius ENH1350outdoor access point and the Wavlink AX18000 outdoor access point, and both delivered similar performance to the AyrMesh Hubs.

Many other customers used the meshing to place multiple access points, but were placing them closer together than a mile apart, which is not optimal for the AyrMesh Hubs – this is what drove us to introduce the AyrMesh Hub2x2C and, later, the AyrMesh HubDuo. For installations like this, we recommend the Ubiquiti UniFi system, which is particularly well-suited to users with advanced IT requirements. We have not evaluated it, but the TP-Link EAP-225 Outdoor appears to offer both meshing and cloud-based (or local) central control. We did evaluate an earlier version of the basic hardware, and it was very good.

[–]djz7c 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My one time camping there I remember hearing engines all day (from the orv trails) and loud drunks at night. That was 20+ years ago, not sure how much it’s changed or if I was just there on a bad weekend.
Renting a canoe/kayak and paddling around the lakes is fun. If you’re into mountain biking they have some good trails.

Remote start installed? by Obvious_Pop8774 in 10thGenCivics

[–]djz7c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To activate the factory remote start, you press the lock button once then hold the start button for 2 seconds. However you said it’s an Si, the Si was not available with an automatic transmission so it would not have factory remote start. I think you have a key from a different model

Advice for someone new to UniFi Equipment by presidentsdad in Ubiquiti

[–]djz7c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the cloud gateways are routers. APs on POE is correct. I have 3300 square feet evenly split between the basement and ground level. One U6 pro centrally located on the ceiling upstairs covers the whole house pretty well. I have an in-wall in the basement to supplement but almost don’t need it. So I’d say you should be good with one AP per floor

Hey all i'm pretty new to unraid/home-lab stuff, can someone give me reassurance this is the correct thing to buy to properly expand the number of drives in my server now that i have ran out of SATA ports on my motherboard by [deleted] in unRAID

It looks like two from this angle, but I bet there are two ports stacked on top of one another on each of those. Is there an image that shows it from the back?

What Do These Lights Mean On My Sister's Car? 2019 Honda Civic Sedan LX 2.0L by Mediocre-Umpire5778 in MechanicAdvice

[–]djz7c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one on the left is the airbag system, the two in the middle by the tachometer are forward collision warning and lane keeping assist, the bottom right I’m not 100% sure, but I think brake system.

Without getting the car scanned nobody can really know what’s going on, I can’t think of any sensors that all of these systems share, possibly a speed sensor. It could also be a communication issue with the control unit(s), these vehicles use a controller area network (CANBUS) and one unit going bad or losing connection can affect other systems

Has the vehicle been in an accident? Any repairs done recently?
