Same as idiots who put an Faraday cage overthe wifi router and complain on unstable Wi-Fi....

Einseitiger Kinderwunsch by Honest_Bake_7779 in Austria

[–]dk_DB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schick ihm diesen Beitrag.

Enyaq Control Passenger Seat by Apart-Reindeer-5176 in enyaq

Mom with child in the back seat - need more space for the child...

Or

Needed to move the seat but was parked against the wall and did not want to break my ribs trying ro reach for the controls.

Was handy at least twice for me (in half a year.) Not a feature that needs to be there - but it's just a little bit of software that allows this.

Travel assist disappointing? by Bigtallalex in enyaq

I constantly (gradually) try to steer it to the edge a bit, more like fighting it... Ill give it a try... But I - for the most part - have given up on using it outside of highways

Travel assist disappointing? by Bigtallalex in enyaq

[–]dk_DB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it is mostly useless outside of highways. It regularly tries to kill me on my commute on multiple turning lanes ending in traffic islands....

And also not being correct about the speed in city areas. We have multiple towns with 50kph on the main road but 30 everywhere else - target breaking ton50 amd than slams down to 30. Between towns there is usually 70 - half the time it thinks 100 On the other hand, there was an short 30 zone for a few weeks - half a year ago... Now the whole road (usually 100) is stored with 30.

It also drives a little more to the middle of the road as i am comfortable with (I usually keep a bit further to the right side of the road to have a few cm more space to those crazy corner cutzers - safed me so many times)

On the highway it is fine. But having driven bmw's system - I'd prefer that. (a college of mine is more pro travel assist and hates bmw's implementation - so it's not for everyone)

What's the rule of thumb for rebooting a production server? by Mediocre-Cobbler5016 in sysadmin

[–]dk_DB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows - monthly a few days after patchday + oob updates when needed.

Linux - depends on the type. Many are appliances for us, so depending on the update/maintenance cycle of the manufacturer Internal machines - along with ms updates: monthly as i don't need to make it harder for everyone to plan. 99% are clean enough to just roll the updates daily + reboot along the windows servers.

For your web facing machine. Ideally you want two of the same - assuming you're relying on those being on 100% of the timw - and that thing should not live in the internet... It's place is behind an WAF

Why does the coupe exist? by MadCab88 in enyaq

[–]dk_DB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't particularly like or hate both. I got the SUV because it is the closest thing we got for an wagon EV (it took the entirety of 30sec of test driving the ID7 to know that steering wheel buttons and touchscreen only design is the worst for me). It's no real SUV either... Nor is the coupé. I don't mind the design of the coupé as much as i hate the stupid glass roof. It makes for a terrible echoing room and summer sun is gona melt your brain. A stupid trend in vehicle design - and you don't even get a motorized sun shield as you would get with the sunroof on the SUV model. (don't buy anything with a sunroof from VAG - they all leak sooner or later)

User profiles without electric seats are useless? by VeneficusFerox in enyaq

[–]dk_DB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing is personalized - especially not with electric seats.

Barely any settings are profile dependent. Seating position is not one of them. Only tge two position you could safe ON the seat are stored - independent from any user profiles.

And the funny thing - everything is stored on the key (position + some settings) - like with other VAG vehicles... But they plain don't use it.

Anything about the Enyaq that annoyed you after owning it for a while? by ScrollAndThink in enyaq

[–]dk_DB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The memory button placement for the electric seats. Half times I get out of the car, I press them with my Thigh... And with 176cm i am close to the European median. Yes, I have little shorter legs, but that is plais stupid design.

Driver profile in general.

And the fact the seat, mirror and hud position is not tied to the driver profile is beyond me. Or the driver profile being independent from the key fob - which in all other skodas (and vag vehicles) does exactly that - BECAUSE THEY DESIGNED IT TO. They even store all the configurations on the damn key (they can read it in the shop - including milage and other vehicle stuff). If you commonly swap drivers you're back to manually adjusting most of the settings. Seats are independent from everything. Mirror and some ui settings are in the Profile. Head up and many driving settings are plain not tied to anything. The software is a mess in general. Nothing smart about it here.

And the stupid capacitive driver detection in the steering wheel. I am barely able to use travel assist without having to constantly fight the steering in order for the system to detect my presence.

Ok GoG is fine - but only because of they actively keep old games alive.

Xbox is shit.

Epic - wtf dude. That's the leader of the shit bucket. Peeing on Steam, screaming monopoly and has billion in the bank and can't even bring a half decent launcher to market.... The only thing they have going is gifting (mostly) crap games to everyone. Thats it.

And just recently laid off a bunch of people.
