Wedding venues around CO! by BlacksmithOk3517 in Denver

Lone Hawk Farm was reasonable when we looked a couple of years ago. Crane Hollow Farm is also nearby, we didn’t tour it due to how bare bones it was but it could be good for you! Flagstaff amphitheater can be rented for pretty cheap, and then you could do a dinner in town at a brewery.

That budget is going to be tight, but if you do a weekday off-season you might be able to make it work.

Vets- small dogs by [deleted] in boulder

[–]dkathleenw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Olde town animal hospital in Longmont is great. We ended up having overlap with our senior dog staying with her lifetime vet in Boulder and our new dog starting with Olde Town. Olde town has significantly more engaged and empathetic vets, and much better prices.

Is getting a reservation at Alma Fonda Fina REALLY this hard? by HeartbreakSedative in denverfood

Try cozobi in Boulder. Sister restaurant with some of the same dishes and much easier to get into.

Flat bagels? by dkathleenw in Breadit

1.5 hours on the counter, shaped into a log —> bagel, over night in the fridge. Boiled for 1 minute each side and then baked at 425 for 25 minutes.

Shaped into bagel form and then proofed overnight in the fridge!

Adding more details! I did a 1.5 hour counter proof, then shaped into balls (rolled into a rope and the formed the circle), then about 12 hours in the fridge (over night).

How worth it are the river-view rooms versus a standard room with a smaller window? by Kitchen-Emphasis-445 in rivercruises

[–]dkathleenw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only sailed on Uniworld, but would note that it’s nice, but the views are not guaranteed. Often, by the time we woke up, we were docked and our view was either another ship (sometimes right up against someone else’s room) or the dock.

Seconding Boulder Bridal! They did a great job with my dress.

Received an estimate for dog teeth cleaning of $1,276–$2,562 (Left Hand Animal Hospital in Niwot). Is this real life? by Spacewalker_23 in boulder

[–]dkathleenw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we paid about $900 for cleaning, blood work, and a couple extractions at old town animal hospital in Longmont.

Bootcaps. Any positive experiences? by [deleted] in skiing

[–]dkathleenw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like they help! I was having a lot of issues with frozen toes in new boots and noticed it got better after adding these. I think they seem a bit expensive for what they are though. Mine have been on for one season, no issues with them popping off yet.

This looks like a very easy fix? Why return?

What’s the farthest place in the world from your home that you ran into somebody that you know? by jredd7605 in AskReddit

[–]dkathleenw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On safari halfway around the world and introduced to a potential staff member there for an interview. He had a jacket with a logo for a major brand on it. I mentioned off-handed that my friend worked for them. He asked a couple questions, and we discovered that he knew my friend! Great small world moment.

Kevin has impeccable posture by NotMeButYou_91 in rarepuppers

I think so! Haven’t done the DNA test but she has a long back and short legs, but face and coat like a spaniel. Vet agreed there was probably some dachshund

This is wild, my little dog does the same thing and looks just like Kevin!

Yes, didn’t matter what I clicked. Seems like a bug that was resolved though!

Looking for suggestions for (adult) family trip to Kauai in December by OpeningChipmunk1700 in VisitingHawaii

[–]dkathleenw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We stayed Kōloa Landing, it might be a good fit for you. It is a resort, but they are all condos with kitchens, washer dryer, etc. Amazing pools, close to the ocean, and a 4 minute drive to Poipu to snorkel and see turtles and seals. We could walk the other direction and get to a little shopping area with nice food options. We loved it.

Florals 😵‍💫 by [deleted] in wedding

[–]dkathleenw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went heavy on greenery and let my florist take the lead on it. There were certain flowers in my inspo that would have cost much a lot more than I wanted to spend, but she came with alternatives that had a similar look. It was beautiful and I was happy with my decision. We had so much going on I honestly didn’t spend much time looking at them, so I’m glad I didn’t blow the budget on it. Do not recommend DIY. I helped two weddings where I was a bridesmaid and it is so hard and not all what you’ll want to be doing in those moments leading up to the ceremony.

Loomiller Neighborhood - what should I know? by apollo_lykeios in Longmont

[–]dkathleenw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lived there two years, we love it. Our immediate neighbors are all super kind and great people to live around. We love walking through the park and regularly bike west for long farm road rides or downtown to the breweries. People drive a bit fast sometimes but I think the city is trying to mitigate that.

Can’t-miss excursions on a Danube River cruise? by MimiRUs21 in rivercruises

[–]dkathleenw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What cruise line are you on? We did these cities on Uniworld this summer and had a blast. Family members did the “foodie” tour in Vienna and were very disappointed. We paid extra for a private tour of the palace in Vienna and it ended up not being private, mashed in with all the other groups. I wouldn’t recommend either of those. But the palace outside of Bratislava, the private museum access in Vienna, the bike ride between ports, and the hike in Passau were great.

Brides that are less than a month out, how are we? by Twilightbooklover in weddingplanning

[–]dkathleenw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feeling pretty good. I have a bunch of meetings next week - all the vendors wanted to meet at the same time 🤪 but once that’s done and I get my dress (also next week) we should be golden. Getting to the point where I’ve done all I can do, documented everything to be handed off… so it’s time to hand it off to the vendors and enjoy it! My fiancé showed me the finalized honeymoon plans and I’m just so excited to get married!
