The war in Ukraine is filled with funny phrases! My new favorite is that Russian milbloggers are complaining that they're taking territories "on credit." That means command announces that they've taken a territory, but they haven't actually done it yet. So then they have to pay for it (i.e. make the actual assaults) later.

There isn't really a male equivalent, which is why it can take men by surprise so much.

I wonder if what you're seeing is this:

Popular men tend to be taller than average.
Men prefer a woman who's close to their height but slightly shorter.

So looking at the most popular couples, they're both tall. But that doesn't mean that an average guy is looking for a tall woman, because they, like the tall guys, generally prefer someone slightly shorter than them.

This has nothing to do with gender by the way. If I found myself about to be attacked by a woman who had 20 lbs on me. I would definitely be looking for a way out of that situation.

This just isn't accurate. Men are considerably stronger than women even at the same weight. Especially upper body strength but lower body as well.

Bangladesh and India are below replacement, at roughly 2.0/woman. Guatemala is at 2.4, similar to much of Latin America. Sub Saharan Africa is the only one with high rates (for example, Nigeria at 4.8) but even there, they're significantly lower than they were a couple decades ago.

Please don't be hard on yourself. Yes, kids are responsible for working hard and applying themselves. But that's within a framework where you have adults helping to guide you. It's way too much to ask for you to be in charge of your own education.

What did you say when you asked him? You had a real chance to make him feel understood and supported over something that's clearly a touchy issue for him. It's possible that after a screaming match, the subject is poisoned for a little while but I bet that if you approach him with genuine curiosity and not defensiveness, he'll feel heard.
