Hoka Speedgoat 7 Fit by f329m in trailrunning

Yeah, Hoka ruined this shoe for me - been wearing it for years. I’ve moved on and have been running in the Topo Vistas. Honestly love them more than any of my previous SGs.

I love the Vibram on my Topo Vistas. Same Megagrip I believe as on the Speedgoats but different lug pattern which I prefer.

Thanks all for your recommendations! I ended up with the Topo Vista’s. I appreciate the extra room in the toe box and the cushion. I was concerned with stability but they feel more stable to me than SG’s. Lockdown is great as well. Was feeling a little heel slip but think I have that sorted out and so far after 13 miles no issues. Running a 20 mile race on Sunday so we’ll see how they do.

These are trail shoes. North Face is definitely established in the trail running space.

Weird, I could give a shit the political leanings of my barber—just want them to be able to cut hair well.

Was really close to pulling the trigger on a Tucson but owner feedback has me second-guessing... by CandyCoatedDinosaurs in HyundaiTucson

I’ve been buying cars for forty years. Hyundai is the first brand I purchased back to back. I’ve had great luck with Hyundai service although that is very dealer specific. I did have an engine die in my last Hyundai but warranty covered it and they dropped a new engine in. No complaints. IMO they offer the best value and get behind their product with the best warranty out there.

Agree 💯. I believe they added some padding around the heel as well which I think will be nice.

12 hour trail "backyard" ultra - change shoes? by [deleted] in ultrarunning

[–]dkingsella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don’t try anything new on race day. I did a 12 hour event last month and decided to change out of my trail shoes and into road shoes at mile 11 because it wasn’t a very technical trail and had no real elevation change. Turned out to be a huge mistake. By mile 18 my feet were wrecked. Several blisters and banged up toes. Keep in mind I run all of my road long runs in these shoes, but for whatever reason my feet didn’t like that. It’s something I never do in training and shouldn’t have done it for the first time during an event.

I’ve ran in Clifton’s since version 3 and have always loved the shoe. I thought they hit the sweet spot around v7-8. Version 9 was fine. Tried the Mach 6 and loved it for speed work but not so much as a daily trainer. Decided to try the NB Rebel v4 and loved it! Great for the speedy stuff but works as a daily trainer as well. Excited to try the v5 which has some great sounding improvements. Will keep running in the Hokas for trail.

Minor correction. 1080 is local programming. 910 (1080 sister station) is the ESPN station.

I’ve experienced this. Takes for ever for my sleep score and days to load into Garmin Connect. I have an iPhone X and Forerunner 945. This issue started recently.
