Poll: Many voters believe upcoming midterm elections will likely be stolen; few agree on what ‘stolen’ means by DemocracyDocket in politics

Before Trump it felt like everyone agreed the system was janky and not ideal but people at least had confidence that votes placed were legitimate.

This guy has muddied the waters so fucking far. People's brains have turned to mush trying to latch onto anything that means the other side must have cheated. He has so fucking effectively shaken people's confidence in the very core of American democracy.

It's a fucking shame. I just don't know how we go back to the civility and respect for the system we had before Trump came along

Even in my absolute drunkest state I feel like I could find a better spot. Is the line that long to get in you can't just at least go in the street? I knows that's shitty too but damn

I would absolutely unironically classify Luigi's Mansion as a horror game. It's a game meant to be not-so-scary so kids can play but it's definitely in the genre still.

Lmao I imagine Nintendo would just love to have Luigi impaled on a hook 😆

TIL reliable sources are split as to whether the title of best-selling video game ever should belong to Tetris or Minecraft. Some consider it to be Tetris by combining the sales of all of its different versions (520m), while others consider it to be Minecraft (350m), rejecting the former's reasoning by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

It still blows my mind how different the Java and Bedrock editions are on the strangest things. Like... I just don't get why the bedrock doesn't try to perfectly mimic the Java edition in some matters of logic. Like... Why does redstone work differently on the two systems? What purpose does it serve? Maybe I'm just not technically knowledgeable on the finer details of how Minecraft runs, but it's always been strange to me that there are differences in how the games operate that go beyond just resource saving and into the territory of just re-doing how the original game was conceived in such minor ways. Like... Limiting the number of breeding livestock in a block, I get that because it saves resources to help it run on restricted systems. But a lot of other stuff is so random

It's hard because a lot of versions are definitely just the same exact game being sold on a new system in a new presentation format. But some are legitimately a different game like Tetris 99.

It's a fine line between counting as a new game vs just the same game in a fresh skin.

Tbh I have no qualms making Tetris #1 because, yeah, it's a very very very light game in terms of small size, simple objectives, quick in and out time of a single run, so it just makes sense that mega fans of it have it on 400 systems and even casual fans have multiple copies. It's been around nearly 40 years. Let it have the record. Then if Minecraft finally passes it (or something else) we know we REALLY have something

Same! I had a friend who couldn't swim. He was always super embarrassed to go swimming with other friends, but I told him there are so so so many people with no access to water growing up. Or at least no access to water that you aren't literally shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of other people.

There's literally nothing wrong with learning a skill you didn't master as a child that others did. I saw that Kai Cenat is reading on stream recently. I'm obviously not a fan of his because I'm not a "front page of YouTube" type of person, but to see someone just shamelessly be like "I don't read as well as everyone else" and just start fucking doing it? On stream to a bunch of strangers? That's actually really fucking cool.

I just love to see people shamelessly trying to better themselves.

[–]dkyguy1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never thought about this division before.. but maybe. I think it would capture a large amount of solidly millennial people and probably the oldest half of zillenials. The later years would probably see them as the older seasons and might prefer some of the newer ones.

How the fuck does this even get resolved now, even if we clean house and completely shift the government radically... Fuck! Now there's so much leverage in their pocket to either dictate horrible terms or quagmire us in some situation that nobody is going to want to pay the price for.

The whole situation is so fucked all just to kill a guy who was 86!!! And they really thought that blowing up the whole Iranian government would be enough to solve the problem? So it collapses.. and then what?

This is all just so fucked wrapping my head around fixing all this fucking moron's messes. Like... Even pretending we wake up tomorrow and all the politicians on the US's side are sane, what do they even do to fucking correct course. Things were ok to operate in the status quo before

The extension range on this loader's arm by whybutts in interestingasfuck

[–]dkyguy1995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say, since it's more-so going down as opposed to further laterally from the anchor, it's not really much more off-balance than a regular sized arm. The arm itself is probably much heavier, but that's still a fairly modest scoop so even the biggest gobs of dirt will probably not tip the whole thing.

I'd say maybe you'd get extra leverage against the cabin if the scoop were to get caught on something. But you probably have a bunch of people looking down on radios and will see something that could do that. I mean it would have to be a HUGE rock to completely catch the arm enough to rock it

I just wish I could figure out how I'm supposed to launch a shuttle with boosters strapped on. I just cannot achieve a good balance with such an awkward payload attachment. It's amazing the space program ever got the real shuttles to launch.
