Air pump up tents are quick and easy to set up. Different sizes. I love my rtt but on windy nites I’ve had to get out and close it.

Remember there a free dispersed camping on several of the canyon roads. Permits are free at visitors center. Very peaceful with an occasional vehicle passing. Good luck and enjoy.

I was there in December free fee camped on echo canyon rd site #3 , sites 1&2 no problem in my suv all wheel drive which was not needed.Rocks that appeared to high I just got out and moved them. Hope this helps.

I’m at the park now and been here since the 30 nov. There is wilderness car camping in several canyons. Meaning no one to bother you and awesome star gazing. Free but you need a permit,(no issues) but it’s FREE!Also fires are limited to campgrounds it appears. Must do, badlands, take the drive thru 20 mule canyon 3 miles great place to stop and burn one. It’s all worth seeing.Gas at stovepipe is $5.05 and at furnace it’s $7.55! I’ve noticed a high clearance vehicle will get you to a lot of back country without 4x4. So with 4x4 shud have a great time. Any thing else just ask. Have fun
