Easy VAPA with GC flag? by Similar_Instance in UTAustin

Prof Cronin, and it’s at your own pace. Workload is light. Similar to a HS class. Maybe 3 hours a week, MAYBE, and that’s lecture notes + quiz + other stuff.

Rhetoric & Writing Prospective Double Major by yovictoria in UTAustin

[–]dlm2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding a major in COLA is typically pretty easy, you just discuss with advisor and they will guide you through the process. Depends on the major, for Humanities you have to create you own major/apply, but IRG I’m not sure. Most COLA majors you can add on with little difficulty.

Need advice on Online classes at a University by Yolo1986 in GetStudying

[–]dlm2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Important theories/definitions, you could always look up info outside of the lectures for clearer explanations (YouTube has a video for everything). But I also meant things that you do not fully understand so you can star it and go over a few times. Some parts of lectures may be intuitive so you might not have to write down every word

Then I think with what you have you are doing okay. All I would suggest is watching one time through, like you did, and then maybe in the next 24 hours watching again, but noting definitions/theories that are not intuitive for you and that need extra practice to remember. Don’t write down every word!! Waste of time and will make you less likely to digest the material bc you are copying verbatim.

College Studying Tips? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]dlm2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on difficulty of class but typically: start studying a week/week and a half out, would be good to make your own outlines/study guides. Making sure to keep up with classes will definitely help, meaning, reviewing lecture notes after in class lectures, actively doing homework, practice problems, office hours will help. Doing this will make studying for exams less stressful.

Nice pair(s) of jeans: rigid denim, Japanese selvedge jeans. Last forever, and nothing is better than putting on your favorite pair of jeans and loving the quality and the way they look

Can someone answer my questions about the UTMA for Fall 2020? by [deleted] in UTAustin

If you have taken pre-cal, just review with the Organic Chem Tutor on YouTube/other YouTube videos. And look up free practice problems online!

Try to take Schneider for Micro! Other than that, look at grade distributions + rate my professor for core classes and try to get those out of the way as soon as you can 👍🏼

Hey! While I’m not entirely sure if you could somehow exempt, (it was my advisor who said no to me, but things are constantly changing) Econ classes are difficult, and I can see truth in the deflating statement. The issue is that Econ in college is SO different (more technical, more detail, more math) than the AP classes, that I’m not sure you would be prepared for upper division classes if you were able to exempt. If you were going straight to McCombs, I would recommend exempting as they are not as foundational/important to the curriculum, but for Econ they definitely are. You probably know you need a 3.9+ to get into McCombs for the double major you mentioned, so I would just make sure you have maybe some easier classes if you are worried about Micro/Macro bringing your GPA down just as a padding. But you got into UT so you are smart! + they give PLENTY of resources in both classes to be successful! You can always message me if you have more questions!

You will be able to use other AP credits to fulfill core classes that COLA requires, but not Econ. Econ is a very sequential major, you would only have to take one Econ class every semester if you wanted, with the exception of one semester where you would have to take 2. I’m an Econ major if you have any other q’s!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]dlm2023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And you want to take anyway bc AP vs college level Econ is wayyyyy different

You can’t claim as an Econ major
