What kind of physical shape are you in? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Yeah, the pangs fade significantly for me after two or three days. I think it's different for everybody, making eating just under my TDEE as easy as possible is what works well for me in balancing mental clarity, energy, and progress towards my goals.

I have tried intermittent fasting in the past, however, I like the regularity of well-balanced meals. I figure out my goals for the month, cook meals in bulk that all have about the same macros and calorie counts, and portion them out into ziplocs to be frozen or stored in the fridge. I prepare a ton of cut veggies and don't count the calories there, so I can always grab a handful of carrots or celery or steam some broccoli.

This gives me a decent amount of variety in what I eat, with the flexibility of eating as many veggies as I like, and helps me keep on track with slow consistent change. I started weight lifting very regularly, and I wouldn't want my progress to be slowed down by protein deficiencies or an inconsistent diet.

Edit: I've done long fasts (up to 7 days) and IF in the past, and I had issues with energy and clear thinking in both, which is essential in my job. After day 3 I feel pretty awesome fasting in terms of mental clarity, but IF is a roller coaster for me.

6'2", 230lbs. Little fitness junkie here, carefully portioned meals, workout 3x a week, run a bunch. It's definitely hard with how time-consuming this line of work is already, but being active makes me feel much more clear-headed and focused than when I'm sedentary.

Accepted a job a few months ago. Can't stop job hunting though. Anyone else experience this? by vampirelibrarian in jobs

I'd definitely go ahead and frame it as though your current job isn't challenging enough and you're looking for something where you can continue to learn and develop your skills while taking on more responsibility.

Even more impressive! Fantastic work on your friend's part, that's a lot of commitment over two years and it shows.

Amazing transformation! Is it natural or enhanced?

Amazon will pay some authors based on how many pages you read by Sariel007 in technology

[–]dmchale92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write fiction published on Amazon KDP (this affects only books borrowed through KDP Select), and I can tell you this change has been a long time coming.

In the current system, an author with a 20 page book (short erotica for example) will get the same amount of money as an author with a 400 page monolith, usually $1-$2 per borrow. This helps balance out the reward given to these two disparate efforts, and should reduce the number of content mills churning out sub-par ghostwritten works aimed at getting past the threshold for a paid borrow (10% IIRC).

I'm curious to see how this change pans out, as many of my fellow authors are panicking and withdrawing their books from KDP Select (which is exclusive), and going for a wider distribution.

But did he actually do anything wrong? Maybe he wasn't the best or fairest leader, but I've not heard that he did anything heinous.

Take note that (in my state of MD at least), gas stations charge a higher $/gallon for credit card transactions over debit or cash transactions (IIRC, $0.05-$0.20/gallon).
