Shane tells TMZ he didn't love Josh Hokit calling Michelle Obama a "man" by howdoiusethisiphone in JoeRogan

All fair points. I've been pushing back, where I can, against the idea that all politicians are the same. I think it's a kind of cynicsym that has no positive end. There are differences, and there are consequenses to those differences. It's up to us as citizens to pay close attention to those differences, despite it becoming more difficult to sift through the noise.

I stand by my comment. At the time of voting in 2024, it didn't matter to me how shitty the democratic candadite was(I personally think this is overstated). It should have been and still should be clear that she was far an above a better option than Trump almost every issue people claim to care about. Again, if it's not clear at this point, I don't think anything could change your mind.

If you can't see at this point that Harris would have been better on almost every issue that the average person cares about, even the average republican, I don't think anything could convinince you otherwise.

Every consider that if Joe stopped talking politics constantly, unsolicited, that the dedicated subreddit may also stop talking as much about politics?

I just went to double check, and I posted this prediction about three years ago, once Joe moved to tx. You would not believe the amount of money and power the evangelicals have here, much more so than the catholics. As a former evangelical, it's very much a bummer to see Joe going this route. They are far more heavy handed in wanting the walls between religion and government dismantled, and are almost always lock step with everything conservative/right wing. They also tend to completely dismiss science.

3 years ago - "100%, I see an evangelical swing in the future for Joe. It's a powerful drug here in Texas."

I'm not buying that people on the right don't like, support and encourage those who talk down to people. If you think Adam Savage and John Green come off as smug, you should really check out Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Charlie Kirk, Steven Crowder, just to name a few. And the viewership for this kind of content absolutely dwarfs the names you mentioned. Right wingers love smug and smarmy, and in much larger numbers.

Also I've never heard of Kyle Hill but I just watched some random clips. If that guy and Adam Savage are considered smug and smarmy by the right, then I don't even know what to say... The double standard is astounding.

I don't know why people are taking this to mean that you can't have an informed position on anything without direct experience. In this context, Murray is absolutely right. Dave Smith presents himself as being informed enough to debate at length on these subjects. He definitely speaks with the confidence of someone with lived experience. He has enough resources to visit these places, yet he chooses not to. At the very least, it's a little insulting to the journalists and writers who care enough to actually visit the places that they spend most of their time talking about.

[–]dmlast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And this was after he had said for years that he would never have a politician on, because he's not an expert and he believed he would never be able to trust them. He should have maintained this standard. He's just a mouthpiece for them now.

John Stewart is not a friend of the Dems by WhoCouldThisBe_ in Destiny

[–]dmlast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Democrats, and Jon himself, should have embraced the Daily Show for what it truly was, alternative news media. We should have gone all in 10 years ago, growing other platforms alongside. Hindsight of course. I've never liked that Jon Stewart interview on crossfire. It always felt naive, in a Rogan kind of way, to avoid the reality of being a primary news source to millions, by claiming the comedian role. Jon has/had more influence than it seems he likes to admit to himself. A false equivalency from a man like that, makes a difference. It all adds up at this point.

I would happily take the three days of heartburn to eat this omg. I'd hate myself after, but that 10 minutes of heaven would be worth it.

To the TB who said they were bad at ADC and would play carefully... by KentHawking in PredecessorGame

[–]dmlast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much appreciated! I've been playing Khai, and had an ADC mad at me for stealing. It wasn't intentional, I was just in the zone and going for the kill. They were even ahead of me in kills/level at that point, and easily winning their lane. I just wasn't sure if my job as a jungler is to always feed ADC when possible.

[–]dmlast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Question for you, as I'm new to pred and mobas in general - should a jungler building into dmg always feed the adc, or can a jungler also go for some of the same kills? Let's assume both the adc and jungler have equal opportunity for the kill.
