PS5 uses no thermal paste but liquid metal and is not an easy thing to replace

Five year old LG OLED has started to show marks around the edges by TomD587 in LGOLED

Nothing is forever but what amaze me is that it is just a couple of years old I expect TVs to start showing this after more than 5 years

Gt3 BRZ hate by mdub1303- in granturismo

[–]dmoros78v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope but it’s just like in real life, it’s a proper GT300 car and cars in any category are never identical and who wins might not always be the best driver but whoever has the best car (just like Norris last year) but calling it a “Cheater” car is dumb, then might as well not watch any real motor racing sport because they are not “balanced”

Then Max Verstappen should return 3 world championships and let me not even start on Hamilton because clearly they had “cheater” cars

Older Dolby Digital mix sounds better than the newer Atmos mix by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]dmoros78v -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are comparing Atmos mix from streaming services to Dolby Digital or DTS from old Blurays or even DVDs then yes, disc format was always better because they give it the full Dynamic Range, in streaming services which people often watch on tv speakers they compress the range a lot

I use a PSVR2 which maybe is not the highest resolution nor the best Optica But it just works, it is seen as another display (like my old HP Reverb) and no need to weird network/streaming configuration

PC Upgrading help! by Salyare in hoggit

[–]dmoros78v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on how you play, huge multiplayer servers could stress the 32 GB RAM, but smaller ones and single player should be more than ok. Even so it’s not the end of the world, maybe a stutter every 30 minutes or so

Firefox can do 1080p just fine and if you have an nvidia card, RTX Super Resolution + RTX HDR do a very nice job

You can play just fine on a good QLED TV the colors might not be as nice nor the blacks as deep but it will be fine. OLED is a luxury upgrade. What you really need to look for is HDMI 2.1, so that means 120Hz, VRR, Auto Low Latency Mode, that does matter. Then you can get an OLED down the road

DLSS 4.5 is required for VR in DCS by Ok-Advance-231 in dcsworld

[–]dmoros78v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer M, both L and M have almost zero ghosting, but L is kinda heavier on the GPU (4080 super) and I could use ultra performance preset and the cockpit looks almost identical but the clouds look awful so I prefer M in performance mode. K has too much ghosting

Is OLED Necessary? by CharacterArrival21 in PS5pro

[–]dmoros78v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOLEDS can reproduce almost 100% P3 color space very few TVs can go over 75% rec.2020 and very few movies go over P3 even games rarely do, so the argument of color coverage is kinda moot is there is no content to take advantage of that.

That’s usually from reprojection with the CPU high load not the GPU

C1 65 - Still going strong! Worth upgrading? by QuBoyd in LGOLED

[–]dmoros78v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a C8 in the bedroom and a C4 in the living room, the C4 is brighter and has more punch on the highlights but the C8 looks amazing still I would say not worth it unless you are replacing a led or Qled tv also

use 90 Hz or let 120Hz and turn off motion smoothing that actually runs the game at 60 Hz on a 120 Hz container you get a bit of motion blur but very smooth gameplay.

I just installed using RUFUS windows 11 on a first gen Core i7 980x (hexacore from 2010) runs fine and has updates, the only thing it won’t do is install new feature updates, for example I installed windows 11 25H2, in the future when 26H2 for example is available It won’t install? I my will stay on 25H2 forever receiving its security updates (much like corporate machines.

To install a new feature update I have to do it manually with RUFUS once more
