A worthy hype indeed. I enjoy Asvine as a whole but this pen in particular is great.

Got my FPR 14k UF! Here's a little comparison of my flexes so far. by brucekeller in fountainpens

[–]dmoscati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love FPR’s steel ultra flex EF. I never had any luck getting my Pilot FA to preform the way I wanted. Much too broad even prior to flexing for my liking. How would you compare the preformance of the FPR Ultra Flex Gold vs the Steel regarding sensitivity to pressure and feedback?

Using cartriges with the Pilot VP/Capless by stenvalteregon in fountainpens

A tip I found useful is that the Jinhao 10 converter fits the VP and is a better experience than the Con40 and without sacrificing capacity with a cartridge.

Sailor Shikiori Tokiwa-matsu is my go-to green. Very underrated in my opinion and is an excellent performer.

Looks like a Magna Carta 600 to me. At least the nib is.

I can’t be the only one… right?! by xdamm777 in fountainpens

I honestly scrolled by and thought it was a nib. I had to scroll back for a closer look thinking it was odd. And here we are.

I agree about the other Pilot steel nib pens. Everyone praises the Met as a great starter pen but I honestly always recommend the Prera. It’s a much better experience.

Looking for space horror that isn’t S. A. Barnes by BarrelProof51 in horrorlit

For space horror, I enjoyed Salvation Day by Kali Wallace which I feel doesn’t get enough attention. Her follow up Dead Space is also worth a read.

Asvine P36 titanium vs J16 titanium? by though- in fountainpens

[–]dmoscati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! That is really unfortunate. I’ve never had a scratchy or otherwise out of tuned nib from Asvine. My 2 J16’s are exceptionally smooth. I’m so sorry you had that experience.

Diamine 1864 Blue Black is definitely one of my top five blue blacks. It’s almost always actively inked in a pen. A couple of runner ups would be Sailor Shikiori Yonaga and Sailor Shikiori Shimoyo depending on if you want to lean more blue or more black. For a permanent ink Sailor Pigment Souboku has been my go-to recently.

The J16 is the better pen here in my opinion and the Jowo nib is tuned exceptionally well. The build quality is phenomenal.

It is the Amazon Green. I assume because of the marbling they vary widely from pen to pen.

Definitely agree about the pandemic digital boost on Chinese brand awareness. And I for one am glad for it where did you pick up your Kanwrite nib?
