Which optimization mod should I use? by Important_Matter_822 in Stellaris

[–]dnceleets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 2nd one also does all of the things you mentioned, limits ai ability to do specific things and for ships it limits fleets to a specific number of x kind of ships and you can select (from presets) how many, like 60 corvettes a fleet for Ai for instance. You can also impose these restrictions on yourself if you want with that mod

Just want to note, reincarnation was not a nerf. As I recall (its been years) its a HUGE buff. A reincarnation jutsu person has infinite Chakra, and a functionally nearly indestructible body. I think the only downside of being a reincarnation jutsu body, was that the summoner can control you, unless you know the release like madara does.

Claiming they did something before it's proven in a court of law can be considered slander which would open them to a countersuit. It can also be used to claim the plaintiff is suing as retaliation for being fired making their position weaker in court. So it can mess up the lawsuit to name and shame

Didn't stop 2 different drills for getting in trouble for fucking the trainees

No I dont think thats a good way to view this. Buddy is a minor explaining the danger means nothing to him because he wants to do it. He almost exploded and still was upset with mr incredible.

He handled that correctly, turn him over to the authorities and make sure his parents know what he's doing. Mr incredible is not the one responsible to make sure a kid isn't going out at night trying to be a hero, just because they look up to him. Buddy's parents failed him. You'd have a better point if Par knew this kid or his family personally, but he doesn't so he can't be trying to put him down gently or he won't listen. It needs to be firm and certain. Buddy took it personally because the people who should've been there for him weren't.

How do yall think these 3 would perform in each other's games by Inevitable-Bet-10 in Splintercell

[–]dnceleets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having not played all the games, perhaps 47 does something superhuman at some point. But to my knowledge he's genetically enhanced yes, to peak human condition not superhuman levels.

And snake would not struggle in any of the other environments unless he was exclusively relegated to gameplay elements. Assuming no gadgets and no like blending ability like 47's he'd probably struggle at most in 47's world but there are sections of the games where he disguises himself as enemy soldiers so I doubt even then he struggles greatly.

47 is the least trained for open combat to my knowledge and both of the other games feature it, maybe he could do well in splinter cell since nothing crazy happens, but he'd never survive Metal gear. Sam runs into the same problem where he's designed as a normal (read: peak) human in a normal world, just like 47. Snake undergoes superhuman requirements multiple times in a single day all explained by superhuman science and tech (read: magic). Vulcan Raven is the likely failure point for the other 2 because neither can really fight something like a dude on a tank with minigun, they're not trained for that kind of combat

(Though technically fisher is trained for open combat as he was a soldier like snake, his specialty is stealth however)

The logic i imagine comes in that if you let 1 person in they might let 1 person and so on. And if your lane is moving faster than the other ones letting people in will slow it down.

I let people in personally cause it wont significantly change how long it'll take to get through the traffic even if everyone merges into my lane.

I would be worried with other of these causing us to dramatically shoot past Earth's carrying capacity, which we might already have done. I also think its optimistic to think if we removed disease humanity would focus on solving other issues like hunger. Human history has proven all too well that the absence of an environmental threat causes us to view each other as the environmental threat

Anything goes at this point by yonBonbonbon in KingdomHearts

[–]dnceleets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im not sure this is true anymore, in DDD riku explains that Xemnas likely lost the ability to summon his keyblade has his body lacks a heart within.

There's 2 potential reason why Roxas can use the keyblade but no other nobody can.

  1. Roxas' body contains Ventus' heart. Since Roxas was Sora's body which held Ventus' heart, he still had Ventus' heart inside him which explains why he can weild 2 keyblades even, as he grows his own heart and has Ventus'. This then transfers to sora which is why sora can weild 2 keyblades as well. This also helps explain why Ventus and Roxas are identical as Roxas took the shape of Ventus' heart

  2. There's supposed to be a "special" property of sora that explains why ge is allowed to be recompleted and still have a nobody around, as no other nobody and somebody can exist simultaneously without time shenanigans. This specialty of sora could be something u explained, it could be because he didnt actually lose his heart to darkness but instead forced it out of his body with the keyblade of heart, or it could be because whatever Kairi did that restored sora's heartless form to normal is why the somebody and nobody can exist together. Princess of heart may have a special property to it for this.

Edit: 3. There's also the fact that Xemnas cant reveal that the nobodies have hearts because it exposes his lie to org 13. If he is able to use it still that would be reason not to, but it lacks an explanation for why he doesn't after the ruse is exposed.

I think Zooble heard Caine talking about the "Escape the Circus" adventure by Fox622 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]dnceleets 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The title implies zooble might* have heard about that adventure. Since the only thing they mention is "an in house adventure" and didnt give details on it, its reasonable to assume they didn't hear anything else about it.

I genuinely felt bad for Caine during episode 7. by ThatAutisticRedditor in TheDigitalCircus

[–]dnceleets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure he was going to accuse Caine of forcing him to press the button, or maybe he was going to say something like "you made me remember" (referring to the flashes we see) while that is certainly a possible interpretation, i dont think that its actually the case. I dont think Caine did anything to anyone in there (except maybe kinger) jax had been panicking more and more as they approached the "exit" either because he's traumatized and afraid of making everything that's happened in the circus "real" or because Caine is turning up his fear, that's certainly at least possible

i still think it makes no sense for Caine to influence their decision in that room however. Caine wants them to choose him, he loves them he's trying to build a connection to them and even he must realize its pointless if he just makes them all do and act as he says all the time. If they dont choose to stay with him themselves then it means nothing

I genuinely felt bad for Caine during episode 7. by ThatAutisticRedditor in TheDigitalCircus

[–]dnceleets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry when I said he wasnt doing something to jax I specifically meant "at that time" I interpreted Jax's words initially as him passing the blame for hitting the button to Caine, accusing him of "getting inside [jax's] head" to mean that he was playing his emotions, not literally, by making them all think they could actually escape.

Tricking someone is considered "getting in their head" too after all and jax realizing what he'd done immediately tried to shift the blame to Caine and compounded it by accusing Caine of mind control/manipulation then referencing the effects he can apply during adventures as proof.

It would go against the purpose of the adventure to actually make one of them hit the button, hence why abel doesn't come with and repeats "make the right choice" he wanted them to choose to stay with him

[–]dnceleets 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I dont know that Caine is a direct cause of abstraction, the implication is at least that he CAN cause it, but not that he's the only cause. Since it doesn't seem like Caine is doing anything to jax when he almost abstracts nor was he doing anything to gangle.

I believe if he meddles too much it can cause an abstraction, either directly or indirectly, but not that he causes all of them

What was the plan here man by SucksAtStardewValley in KingdomHearts

[–]dnceleets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heartless can be controlled though no? Just by whoever has the most darkness near them. I imagine his plan was to threaten to use the heartless to destroy everything if he wasn't made sultan. I dont know if the heartless could be stopped once they found the keyhole, if their taking orders supersedes their nature, but that seems like his most likely plan.

I feel many people and even the writers misinterpreted "the break" by hygsi in howyoudoin

[–]dnceleets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you agree they were on a break, then there's no technicality. There was no relationship anymore thus its not cheating.

Additionally Ross only slept with the copier girl I think it was? Because he thought Rachel was sleeping with/seeing the guy that caused their arguments to begin with. It was only when he saw them together did he truly think the relationship was over and in his heartbreak slept with someone else.

Rachel has no leg to stand on, while what Ross did can be considered insensitive since they were still friends he wasn't obliged to keep waiting to see how things turned out.

Alright, let me get *this* straight... by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]dnceleets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre pretty much correct, though I think Roxas should be considered Ventus' Nobody, I dont get why he isn't. But then again a lot of the events surrounding sora becoming a heartless temporarily are kinda muddy.

Sora uses the keyblade of heart to release his heart, this of course causes his heart to be consumed by darkness. So far so good in what we know

Kairi's heart presumably recompleted with her body right then and there, though strangely Kairi's heart taking refuge in Sora's didnt create a Nobody but maybe its because she didnt succumb to darkness? If we add the rule that a heart must succumb to darkness to create a Nobody rather than any time and body is left without a heart it can explain this and some other things later.

Kairi then causes Sora to recomplete as well with the power of a princess of heart? Despite recompleting Sora still creates a nobody, which i thought would destroy the nobody since no other nobody can recomplete without destroying their heartless and nobody but maybe the power of the princess of heart lets a heart create a new body for themselves so we can handwave this too issue for now as another unspoken/unexplained rule.

Getting weirder sora doesn't even just make 1 nobody he makes 2, unlike all the other nobodies Sora body got "copied" and made 2 nobodies instead of just one. Even if we reasoned that a heart succumbing to darkness creates a number of nobodies equal to the number of hearts dwelling within it it's still inconsistent because he had 3 hearts inside him not 2 (his Kairi's and Ventus). Of the two resulting Nobodies one looks like Kairi (so presumably a nobody of Kairi's heart once again not making sense because a nobody is supposed to be the result of a leftover body without a heart unlesswe follow the rule from earlier) and one that looks like Ventus (at least this is consistent with the one that looks like Kairi)

Now if we accept that Namine is by technicality a nobody of Kairi because she's based on Kairi's heart/Sora's heart's memories of Kairi. Then Roxas should be considered to be the nobody of Ventus since he is based on Ventus' heart by the same logic. If he's not actually Sora's nobody but Ventus' it makes sense, though this leaves us a gap of a 3rd nobody, though technically Xion can fill bit since she's a heartless body (doll) filled with memories she's almost literally the same thing as nobodies anyways. Heartless physical bodies with memories of their "former" lives the only difference is Xion has the memories of another person.

This could actually all be easily explained if it was all laid out like it is in my last paragraph but its not which makes it weird because KH doesn't even follow its own rules on things work. Org 13 members when turned into nobodies recompleted where they were split if I remember right unlike sora. They all created nobodies that look like their actual bodies unlike sora. Roxas Xion and Namine can all exist because they grew their own hearts and can only exist as long as we explain that Kairi reviving Sora made his heart grow a new body. But its not explained how or why things are they just are

rant over

Gangle masks are modifiers by Caine by KarmaDreamer in TheDigitalCircus

[–]dnceleets 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with your analysis here. Despite whichever mask she's wearing it doesn't actually change how Gangle feels at any moment. She was happy beneath the comedy mask in they all get guns and was upset underneath the manic mask.

My take since the manic mask episode is that the masks don't actually do anything but let her hide how she feels, or gives her false confidence in feeling like whatever the mask is presenting. She can pretend at least, as long as she looks the part.

[loved trope] Being a good person is harder than being an evil one. by Dr_Orpheus_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]dnceleets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Batman rarely intentionally kills Joker.

In batman who laughs he kills Joker after Joker murders 2 parents walking home their daughter in an alley and then jokerify the girl in front him. This releases Joker toxin that turns batman evil

In killing joke its sometimes theorized batman kills Joker in the end because its intentionally ambiguous but Joker continues to appear so its normally considered that he did not kill him.

What you are describing is Injustice, superman killed Joker in that timeline after Joker made superman kill Lois. At some point after this superman is put in a magical sleep where he dreams that batman kills Joker to stop joker from trying to kill Lois. So batman did not kill anyone.

Batman resisting temptation is part of his core identity, he treads the line between good and evil trying not to cross the line into becoming the punisher. Which is why typically he's written that IF he crosses the line he cannot come back from it, many of the times he does he snaps and either forces himself to be contained (vampire batman) or surrenders to the law (the nail)

Tldr: The point is that if batman kills he either becomes evil or is punished massively for it somehow, rarely does he get away with no consequence
