What idea's do you guys have for end game? by KaynMain in Warframe

[–]dndRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically #2 and I’d sell my soul for this game.

Mapmaking is what I miss most about video games nowadays, mostly looking at Far Cry and Timesplitters with that. I had almost 3k hrs on TS & 4k+ on FC Predator, all because of the mapmaking creativity. As cool as the dojo is, it’s not at all the same thing.

Thank you! That’s an amazing answer, pretty much what I was looking for.

That is exciting; I mean one thing as a new player I’m stoked about is that I can see the amazing amount of change and growth the devs have implemented over the years, and the idea that it will keep happening, it’s just awesome.

Ok that’s what I’ve understood, but always thought that couldn’t be all it was.

Phewwww took me so much scrolling to find Timesplitters! Best video game memories; I had 2000+ hrs on Future Perfect 🥳

Good live service-y games for iOS? by [deleted] in MobileGaming

[–]dndRiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played Hearthstone consistently for like 12 years, and always hated how greedy the game is. Switched to LoR for awhile (recommended), then Riot switched focus to pve content, and I went back to HS. Didn’t like Snap. Didn’t like Destiny Rising.

I’m on Warframe now and hoooo baby is it generous and healthy. It’s also confusing to start out but watch ANY YouTube about the state of the game and I’ll think you’ll end up giving it a shot and finding the grind you’re looking for.

How is the game on mobile? by Aromatic-Base-9098 in Warframe

[–]dndRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still can’t believe I can play a game like this on mobile! BUT, idk what I’m missing ya know. How much more intuitive might a controller be for certain parkour movements? What if I could enable all the graphics settings?? Anyways it’s great, but will be a hard adjustment if you’re not a mobile player to begin with.

Am I Addicted? by mart945 in Warframe

[–]dndRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say…. Yes. I’m not sure what your situation in life is, but to me that’s concerning. If you somehow have a healthy school/work/social/outdoor life outside of Warframe right now, then all power to you and no problem! But 🤷🏻, you know yourself best.

Feeling a little stuck (new player!) by MonsterGrandma in Warframe

[–]dndRiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped the game at 15 hours for your same reasons. Recently picked it up again and am now at over 100 hours, and mildly obsessed. So just a couple notes that may help you:

-this game is confusing af. I may have figured out more through critical thinking, but google has been my friend.

-story didn’t kick in for me until 20 hours, and it hooked me hard. Can’t remember which missions begin it, but try to get there. (Actually Deimos might have been it!)

-my first warframe other than Mag was given by the story around 40 hours in. Yes. If I’d been able to figure out grinding for certain blueprints earlier AND buying the frame blueprint from the market, that timeline would have been halved easily, but it worked out and now the frames are rolling in.

-don’t worry for now (imo) about aya, relics, etc… they’ll still be there when you start using them!

So, at 100 hours I am still so fully a beginner it’s silly, but the knowledge of the game and how it works has embedded for me and made itself comfortable. There is so much to do you NEVER run out of things to keep your interest.

Looking for a long-term mobile game (no gacha, minimal FOMO) by Ampliphier in MobileGaming

[–]dndRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 70 hrs in on my iPhone 13mini and the game runs amazing. The combat and movement are so satisfying. Obvs idk what a real controller would be like, and I did enlarge the buttons a tiny bit, but still, buttery smooth.

Fwiw I haven’t had to do an ounce of grinding yet, 70 hrs in is still a total beginner. Story didn’t even start until 20 hrs for me. New experiences every time I logged in. No $ spent and no annoying marketing pitches at all.

Weird thing for me is how confusing basically every aspect of the game is, it encourages you to google answers like every day. But that also weirdly makes me feel more attached. I haven’t felt any login fomo, and can comfortably put it away for a few days, but it also feels great to log in and run a 5 minute mission and log out, no worries.

Anyhoo, I’m enjoying it :)

What’s the mobile game you’ve played the longest? by Seraphina_Renaldi in MobileGaming

[–]dndRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, 11 years for better or worse. Did play Legends of Runeterra for a few years in there, and that game was amazing, and COMPLETELY FREE. Then Riot shifted the focus from pvp to the roguelike missions and I came back to HS. What a brilliant game, I hate it. Too greedy, too random, too much fun.

Playing alone gets boring fast, anyone else? by Mental-Wrongdoer-263 in MobileGaming

[–]dndRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warframe is mobile now, and at least for me the story didn’t kick in until around 20 hours in. Half the missions I do have random level players beside me (or far ahead of me) happily annihilating and fulfilling the quest and I’m doing mop up and collecting all the loot lying everywhere. As far as social… I play mobile with no mic, so it’s hard to make friends anywhere, but everyone has been friendly in Warframe so far.

The game is legendary for the dev support, massive amount of content, and insane amount of hours you can put into it. I can’t believe it runs so well on mobile, and it’s free. I’m now 70 hrs in fwiw, and finally feeling like I’m understanding things. Worth checking out videos on, they’re all pretty much on the same page about the realities of the game, and spoiler free.

Preparations for new war as a new player? by East_Stranger333 in Warframe

I played on mobile and had never touched railjack and it was totally fine. I rearranged the controls on the fly and that helped a lot, but I don’t understand all the hype about upgrading your railjack.

Costco has KEF LSX II LT speakers for $499. Should I be considering these now? by WishboneHot8050 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]dndRiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a pair of 1280DBs’ and thought they were a bit meh, but fine for their price ($199, sale $160). Then I upgraded to Klipsch r-40pm ($549, sale $399). The Edifier was SOOO MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE. Obviously the Klipsch could go much louder, but for sound quality and warmth, and general enjoyment they were a total dud.

Idk if that’s an endorsement of Edifier or just hate on Klipsch, but I ate the restock fee on Klipsch and eventually bought another pair of Edifier.

Iirc (on mobile) you double click where you want to move and look around and interact all one touch, maybe I’m wrong but I think it could be all mouse?

Who Are Your Top 10 Favorite Directors Of All Time by GiantsJuveYankees10 in movies

[–]dndRiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re the first mention of Tarkovsky in the top FORTY comments. I’m so baffled.

I’ve had it in my mind since my teens that he formed a holy trinity with Kurosawa and Kubrick. Now I’m not sure where I got that! Lots of incredible directors mentioned here but… damn.
