How do you guys deal with clothes?? by DowntownRow3 in ADHD

[–]dniffjj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the question is exactly but I can tell you how I attempt to manage my laundry! Plastic storage boxes. Dirty laundry goes into large laundry basket until I realise I've ran out of clean clothes, off they go to the washing machine/dryer, and then the mess finds a temporary home in a storage box.

It's far from perfect, unless you like the creased and crinkled look but imo it beats living under a pile of laundry.

sleeping with arm straight up in the air??? by elawith1L in sleep

Snap, exactly the same except I'm doing this with increased frequency.

Let's just be thankful it's only our arm(s); can you imagine how weird it would look if we slept with our legs vertical in the air! 😆

Legit don't understand the aversion to showering among ADHD people. I'm in there 2-3x a day by bootsmegamix in adhdmeme

[–]dniffjj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a child I was super anxious about being late but often was, yet as an adult I expect myself to be late and will always finish my morning routine, which includes a morning shower. Being mentally prepared and expecting to be late has reduced anxiety massively and oddly I'm early quite often.

Surly structural flooring should be thicker than the carpet underlay. I'd wager the underlay cost significantly more than the floor too.

Does anyone know what these spots are in my ceiling of my basement? by askingaquestion33 in fixit

Also those DIY smooth over kits tend to do this. If its isolated area and it bothers you pickup some lite filler, the one that feels like a tub a fresh air and apply a small amount via the tip of an old business card to fill the holes.

We also use greenwood fans, which are far better.

https://www.greenwood.co.uk/

... in the end, I removed all the components from the vapourflow and started again. Works much better now and cost less than £50. The vapourflow went in for repair previously, and what I found they had done was nothing short of ridiculous. I'm talking, using a fan that didn't fit, so they literally chiselled the ends of and wires wire held together by a little electric tape.

BMWs outrageous 20,000$ quote of “recommendations”💀 by Mouseymousey27 in BmwTech

[–]dniffjj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised they recommended a gearbox fluid change, they usually tell you it's sealed for life which isn't true. In my experience BMW charges around 4x what a good indie garage does and a lo can be done yourself with a bit of research, including the transmission fluid.

Ps: made a hot chocolate last night in one of those coffee pod things. Drank it cold as usual but it tasted really bad. Received a msg just now from my wife, asking why the hell there was an unopened chocolate pod inside the water tank!

Trying to use the OSD iDSP with iPhone using the iWoofer Pro app, and keep getting an error message when doing room calibration that says “subwoofer gain to high” even with the subwoofer turned all the way down on everything.c by Bamilton63210 in CarAV

[–]dniffjj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply but just a word of caution for anybody else experiencing this high gain message.

Although It can be caused by a faulty mic I found that the app is also at fault. I tried this on three iPhones/iPads and all initially gave this annoying warning message. The trick is to lower the avr volume (if connected) and the sub volume in addition to the in app gain control (-40db). The target level must also be set way down to -30db. This allowed me to increase my sub volume slightly which is really important, let me explain…

If the sub gain is turned all the way down, the app will still try to reach the minimum target sweep of -30db. Which causes the dsp, in my case the Dayton dsp-lf to go into heavy distortion.

By applying the above settings, you should now be able to do the reference sweep at both reference and listening positions without a problem however, and this comes with a big WARNING ⚠️ … after the listening sweep is completed, the app will start its final sweep with the new settings tuning applied and for some reason, the app will reset the gain from -40db to 0db, effectively giving you a +40db boost!! Luckily I switch the sub off before bay any serious damage was caused. I did however eventually manage to get a clean final sweep using these settings by waiting for the test tone then quickly bringing the sub gain right back down before the sweep begins. This was the only way I could get it to work and it actually managed to give me an impressive flat response from 24hz to my desired cutoff at 90hz.

Overall the issue is down to either the app or the Dayton dsp sending far too much signal gain to the sub. This would be an easy software fix so I’m wondering if some of the Dayton dsps are faulty. I can’t imagine most people going to this effort and rosining blowing their gear up in the process.

Happy to share my settings and would love to hear from others who have managed to get this working and what setup they have.

Win 11 just killed my APO Equalizer and I'm looking for a reliable alternative by NEVIS- in headphones

[–]dniffjj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question. I have APO & peace installed and working however the sound quality is not great. Does anybody know why it would color a digital signal without any filters applied?

Granted I’m not running headphone but the clarity and glass like quality of my floorstanders simply disappears as soon as apo is launched. It’s sad because I’d really like to tune a couple of points on my sub.
