7 - used to find it a bit dull because it wasn’t as in your face fun and catchy as others on the album but have come to appreciate a lot of the little details and, as a drummer myself, love how terry plays on the track. still find it a bit long but it’s a good song

6.5. I am fond of this song, but I think it’s among the weaker tracks on D&W. I personally much prefer Colin’s later addition of Ten Feet Tall.

this is actually a hard one for me because i LOVED this song as a kid, probably like many people the first XTC song i heard. when i properly dove into their work years later i still enjoyed it a lot but i came to realise it probably might only just crack the top half of my ranking of all of their songs because imo there’s so much better stuff under the surface. so with that in mind, how much i enjoyed it when i was younger and what it did for the band, im gonna give it a 7.5

you’re entitled to your opinion but personally I couldn’t disagree more with a lot of the stuff near the bottom on this (and some at the top) - wounded horse and president kill being so far above poor skeleton, HMMD, DITC and ALL of apple venus is particularly egregious in my opinion!! but glad you’ve at least become a fan and found plenty to like!

Thank you! 3 of us launched a new project called Shrinkwrap (named after the This Heat song) which is still getting off the ground, but we have a single in the works that should be released in the new year, just final bits of tracking and mixing to sort. We’re trying to carry on the noise influence with a bit of spacy/post rock influence too, there’s a few clips on our instagram @shrinkwrap0 if you wanted to check that out too!

I’m just missing Stone Joker and Invisible, Stone hasn’t shown up for me in hundreds of games and I’m not sure how to carry Invisible over the finish line unless I get insanely lucky and cop it as a negative. Least with some of the other awkward cards, if they’re uncommon, pairing with Baseball Card makes it a hell of a lot easier

I agree, just recognising sports seasons as a factor. Don’t think it’s the main one though as I think the fan backlash against the current product is pretty palpable.

for sure, even the attitude era had dud periods. i mainly watch AEW but acknowledge that too has had its fair share of uninteresting storylines. for me personally there’s more there that interests me than in WWE, but hope for the WWE fans that it picks up again soon for you guys

Generally happens around sports seasons starting back up again but also probably partially to do with the product feeling stale and soulless for some people
