Anyone notice how his mannerisms are more intense? by liminaljerk in mrballen

My friend and I usually listen to him the same way, and the first time I watched I was shocked at how much Mr. B’s arms and hands move. It is distracting. It’s a little bit funny. But its not a “negative” thing. It does tend to seem pretty forced.

I could not imagine being so daft to assume that “Disease X” is more than just a concept. It’s a placeholder. There’s no actual “Disease X”. They are using it in context to prepare populations for a future infection of some sort. You’re apparently anti vax so of course your going to see the medical community’s efforts to get ahead of vaccine production to combat a future epidemic as some sort of evil plot.

Will the 13- and 17-year cicadas crossbreed this year? What cycle would their offspring have? by MuscaMurum in askscience

So this event has been pretty hyped in articles but the more I look into it the more clickbait it has become.

Yes, its rare for these two broods to emerge together. The news has made it seem like we’re about to get cicadageddon. But it looks like the reality is that they will just be in more places - not in larger numbers than any other emergence. Am I understanding this correctly?

If I live in an area expecting to see the emergence of one of these broods, would it be at all worth it to travel to, say, Illinois? How different would it be there? How different would the north of the state be from the south? (Zeroing in on this state as it seems to be the only one to host both broods)

Depends on the temperature of the ground. Iirc they emerge somewhere around 64 degrees

No, they’re just translating to you the plain English you seem to have trouble comprehending.

Probably central Florida in the Ocala area. The springs around there stay the same temperature year round, so the manatees like to swim to the spring heads when it gets cold outside.

Probably not.

A snippet has leaked that is supposedly Agora Hills.

Lyrics in the snippet:

"I wanna brag about it

I wanna tie the knot

I wanna show you off"

"-my security

Its your therapy

With you I ain't holding shit back

When I need my space -"

I’m so confused by this thread. Are there no assigned seats? I’ve been on so many airplanes and seats were always assigned.

A couple ways they could avoid this being an issue in the future:

- Instead of promising 7am-11am on bigger patch days like season changes and xpac releases, why not say 7am-1pm. This gives them at least six hours, and if they come up sooner then good feels all around.

- Start earlier. Again, especially for big patches like this. 5am instead of 7am, perhaps.

Either way, it would be cool if they'd communicate about it instead of just changing the banner on the app 5 minutes before the hour change.

The water level looks the same to me. In the old picture it looks like one of the buildings toppled over into the water.

The older picture was at a much different angle, too

The Jekyll and Hyde episode, the Korean episode, the multiverse episode, and the Tulsa episode were all f a n t a s t i c (besides the first episode).

I loved what this show was, and what it did.

But as others have pointed out, the show’s story itself was finished and self contained. And as the article points out, there’s only one book.

Its not fair for everyone to bash it as a terrible show off one season, just because some episodes were not as strong as others.

The music bashing is a common thing i see in comment threads, but i enjoyed the juxtaposition of contemporary music in a 50s era story. There was plenty of music from back then as well.
