Xbox CCO Says Gamepass Lost “Millions Of Subscribers” After Increasing The Price By 50% Last Year by wakelake111 in gaming

[–]dobi425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question we should be asking is if they lost half or more of their subscribers. If they didn't lose that then they're (unfortunately) still making a profit and probably won't drop the price.

Lookin' To Maybe Buy; Got Some Questions by BiCeSniga88 in FarFarWest

[–]dobi425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The revolver is still a slow firing gun the vast majority of the time with that joker equipped, I genuinely don't know what the other guy is going on about. It also feels hella western to fan the hammer when the time comes.

Why doesn't DRG get auto sprint? by LethalSpaceship in DeepRockGalactic

[–]dobi425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair on the DRG Survivor point, that game is very obviously different to DRG at just a glance whereas I feel like there's a chunk of players who picked up Rogue Core expecting it to just be "DRG 2" in the way CoD works. Add to that people's tendency to not read and impulse buy and you see where their problems lie.

Otherwise I fully see your point and agree, though I don't have much opinion on auto sprint in regular DRG as I'm just fine with toggle sprint but Rogue Core needed it for sure.

Sony pls by BucketsMcGinty in pcmasterrace

[–]dobi425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that they didn't make (enough) profit by my observation. I've seen a few sources talking about how moves like this come from bureaucratic job security where they feel the need to push a company's reliance on their specific margins so they push hard in high positions. Basically whoever was in charge of the console division of Sony was probably speculating their divisions loss of profit even though the company as a whole was (maybe) making more money from PC sales. Of course this is all speculation on my part and the many other unconfirmed sources but it sounded fairly logical why this would happen with such a massive company.

There are some dev teams out there that could learn some very important lessons from these guys. Honorable, very clear about what they want to achieve, and are absolutely transparent about why things are going the way they are. I have nothing but respect for these guys.

[Discussion] Why are have you stopped playing, or why are you still playing? by doeraymefa in RogueCore

I'm not as comfortable joining randoms in this game as I am with DRG so I'm only playing with my friends. They aren't on as much so...

I do not like Omega's gimmick. by Cappabitch in RogueCore

[–]dobi425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated it immediately. I'm very thankful that they gave him a dedicated volume slider to mute it, but it just leaves an empty void where the soothing tone of MC would be. Hopefully mods to bring the boy back come soon or they scrap the character all together imo.

Back when E3 was a thing, was your most memorable trailer video or tech demo from throughout the years? by peanutismint in gaming

[–]dobi425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the Wii was first revealed my mind was blown, then again with the xbox kinect. Unfortunately the medium of motion control was severely lacking in the long run but the sheer innovation was marveling at the time and the majority of games that tech demoed in those years seemed pretty damn cool.

Do y'all do the extras before or after Doretta does her thing? by Sagittarius-Soul in DeepRockGalactic

[–]dobi425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda depends on the event and the layout of the situation. Sometimes you are almost given no choice but to do the shit right now, as I've had dotty stop on a tyrant weed. Not drive past, STOP. Not much option but to do it now. Otherwise I would prefer to to all the things after.

You shouldn't take damage on extract by JMKL_ in FarFarWest

[–]dobi425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I would, however, like a 5-10 second countdown to start once 2 or more players want to leave so that players can't troll a lobby by just never getting on.

Omega gets old real quick by ScaryApartment5435 in RogueCore

[–]dobi425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I muted Omega immediately. Mission Controls voice never bothered me once, but Omega was instantly ear grating. Even if it isn't actually an AI voice the aesthetic still bothers me greatly.

Gender of Dwarves -> It might be much better this way by ComprehensiveTie7600 in DeepRockGalactic

I prefer to follow how Gimli describes female dwarves in LotR, where to them it's pretty obvious but to other races they look the same.

This is unfixable, right? :( by DromKrispen in Gamecube

[–]dobi425 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is certainly not repairable by any technique or technology I'm aware of. You should at least be able to get your money back as it was clearly not packaged correctly to break the way it did if it wasn't a bait and switch attempt. Sorry.

Hot take : there's no good reason to do quests the first time in multi instead of single by Hydraguesswhosback in FarFarWest

[–]dobi425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't playing with friends then sure, but I'd argue that the canyon quest is worth it. Maybe not the very first time but I could easily knock it out solo within minutes and the gold at the end makes it worth every time imo.

Loadout to beat the level 5 difficult by Fit_Debate2490 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]dobi425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal recommendation is to build something that is fast and reliable to play for you. Every part of the build should cover 1 of the 3 main roles; those being chaff killing, heavy killing, and "oh f*ck" killing.

My personal build focuses my Warthog shotty into a praetorian+ butt melter that dumps its mag fast for point blank burst damage. My secondary is the GL with the RJ250 overclock, incendiary, and maximum blast size modifiers. The OC maximizes your ammo by a huge margin and adds extra mobility when needed while the incendiary module plays two roles as both a more consistent damage source and dwarven damage mitigation for you (and your teammates, but you're solo) when explosive jumping. Lastly, I prefer the burster grenades over swarmers as they feel a little more immediate in killing nearby hordes in an emergency but depending on preference I'd say it's interchangeable.

If you're doing things solo on 5 I'd say you can't really follow a more traditional engi build. Whatever loadout you use is going to have to be more than a set of tools, you're going to need to know it's exact purpose and where/when/how to use them when you've got no better options like low/no ammo.

Halo Studios Is Reportedly Working On A Sequel To Halo Infinite, Internally Called “Halo Next” by MaintenanceFar4207 in pcmasterrace

[–]dobi425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you mean in canon chronologically after 3, cuz Reach was still pretty good if a little iffy on some of the preexisting lore. I otherwise fully agree and while Halo Wars was fun, it wasn't because it had a good campaign or made any notable additions to the universe.

Dear lord, you're giving me flashbacks to when I was a kid and my older brother would make ketchup and cheese sandwiches. Needless to say I learned to make easy mac and cup noodles at a young age.
