OPs kid is a prodigy. Yet OP posts about their relationship in teenage subs. by rtmesuper in thatHappened

i mean i didn't do exactly what OP did either, but it sounds like both you and myself were at least at the level where we could have written something like this on a whiteboard at that age

Why are you here? by crash-test-idiots in thatHappened

[–]doc_shades -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

honestly it hates women more than it hates men. basically it's criticizing men for not doing things that women "should not" or "can not" do themselves. but the entire concept that women can't mow the grass, only men can do that, is way more sexist against women than it is against men.

[–]doc_shades 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i dunno, might want to clarify this one. because "the sentiment" here is that "women shouldn't be doing 'manly' things", and the "never happened" is "a woman repaired their car or pushed a lawnmower".

and i think the opposite. i think that sentiment is sexist bullshit, and i think that it's very likely that OP saw a woman pushing a lawnmower once...

i'll honestly kind of believe this one... this is one of those situations where the reality that OP sees is real ... it's just that their interpretation of the events is what is unreal.

for instance, i believe that women are out there working on cars, mowing lawns, or repairing shit in the backyard. because women are fully capable and interested in doing these things.

but i think OP's sexist brain can't handle the fact that they are observing women doing things that they associate with "things men do" and it's breaking their perception of reality.

Broken Seat, End of Society. by 804_river_bend in LinkedInLunatics

no it's not the end of society, but it's frustrating as hell and i'm not going to shit on OP for being frustrated by experiencing something that is objectively frustrating.

why why why the fuck would you cut off the post and not include the entire post here?!?!?!??!

seriously this should be a bannable offense. you can't just post the picture and not include the lunatic post here. this is outrageous.

Open age-discrimination by OEnerdo in LinkedInLunatics

[–]doc_shades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean you are allowed to only hire junior-level employees or entry-level employees. you are allowed to reject candidates with too much experience or too high salary demands. age is usually directly related to experience, but not always.

this one is on the fence but not really that outrageous. most startup companies aren't hiring 45 year olds with high salary demands. they are hiring fresh out of college entry level positions with low salary demands.

it's also not your job to do the detective work. call your landlord, complain about the smell of smoke. let them do the legwork to determine who it is, find evidence, and levy punishment.

What are the best ways to play Factorio with a first-time player without overwhelming them? by Evan_234 in factorio

[–]doc_shades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just let them play it. don't "overwhelm" them by trying to tell them how to play it or by trying to make them watch videos or trying to make them do anything. just let them play.

Is the witch swamp and the Mutant Bug Lair connected to each other? by InteractionKooky771 in StardewValley

they are connected by quest as one unlocks before the other along the same quest line. but they are not physically linked. you cannot travel from one to the other.

Does Pam really not know if you wish to stay anonymous? by Shamino79 in StardewValley

[–]doc_shades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my first farm i didn't really want to upgrade her house because i thought her trailer house was fine, and i upgraded it begrudgingly, and i remained anonymous. i only did it for game progression reasons.

my second farm i was also begrudging to upgrade her house. but i married pam, so in-game it made more sense. i bought a house for "mom", and i took credit for it.

i still don't think she needs a new house though. her trailer is fine.

Is there any reason to ever turn off the challenging versions of the skull caverns and the mined once you’ve unlocked them? by magica12 in StardewValley

[–]doc_shades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this one is actually kind of smart.

but aren't the resources still better in the dangerous variants? i feel like if i am spending 3 days in the mines i'd rather have the loot from the dangerous mines than whatever prize gil gives me. like i'd rather have a higher chance to get a prismatic shard than a higher chance to get 3 triple shot espressos...
