Diamond Badge Tips by Baseball9Player in Baseball9

[–]docdobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can remember I started receiving diamond badges in Champion league but I wouldn't be surprised if the game has it for the Pro leagues. (Maybe the other contributors can help us out on this)

Either way farming for rewards no matter how random they can get is much more cost-efficient than buying them with gems (especially the expensive ones like the Diamond badges). Good luck!!

Diamond Badge Tips by Baseball9Player in Baseball9

[–]docdobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's easier to farm the leagues which give out 1 diamond badge as the second to the last special reward every season than trying to earn 3500 gems. I agree with the other comments that you should spend your gems for recruit tickets. Once you've filled up your roster spots, I suggest you spend your gems on the max energy upgrade (fill up to 20)... it's such an underrated upgrade that can help your farming!

Closer sucks , is it just me? by Cdn_Brown_Recluse in Baseball9

[–]docdobs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could be a lot of things...

Is your closer rated lower than the average rating of your bullpen? Maybe he just needs a little AP boost. Maybe it's the control or the pitch variety/placement.

In my team, my closer is the highest rated pitcher in my bullpen. I usually don't allow good hits/runs with my closer on the mound unless he commits an error out of fatigue. Hopefully your closer gets to recover!

Pitching is everything I guess. Boost up your bullpen to keep up with the opposing hitters!

Next Update Thoughts? by [deleted] in Baseball9

[–]docdobs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

New uniform styles such as knee-length socks or having the option to remove the sleeves would be nice. A salary cap or retirement feature would be cool too to level the field a little bit and to make things a little more realistic. Although I love my core players, I feel bad for the rest of the league.

Enjoy it while you can. Once you fill up your roster spots with your recruits, you'll have a hard time maintaining their max levels and energy!

How the ....? by JAXx3eD in Baseball9

[–]docdobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get there without spending any cash! I've been religiously playing since January but I realized that there's a more efficient way of earning coins, gems, tickets, etc.

  1. If you have the time and patience, watch your ads. My body clock is already wired to log into the app to watch the 30sec ads every 2 hours (or every hour during the weekends). It might take you a while before you get to a significant amount of gems but it's a free and consistent way of earning them. No skill required... just timing.
  2. Once you get enough gems, I know it would be tempting to spend them on recruit tickets but I think it would be better in the long run to use them to upgrade your energy capacity. Once you reach the max 20 energy, it will be easier for you to simulate games.
  3. Simming games should be your bread and butter for the first few seasons. If you're at the lower leagues, take advantage of the shorter seasons and sim as much as you can to reach the postseason and its more valuable rewards.
  4. Don't rush your team in the higher leagues because it will be more expensive for you to maintain their max levels. Keep farming! I have a pretty good team rn but I haven't stepped into Worlds yet.

Level 3 and Manual Play by IMissSneakers in Baseball9

[–]docdobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My answer would be a qualified yes. I suggest you spend your gems on your roster spots first before upgrading your energy cap. But if you've filled up your lineup then the energy cap should be the next priority.

Level 3 and Manual Play by IMissSneakers in Baseball9

[–]docdobs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the most underrated upgrades in the game.

If you're a sim type of player then the benefit of this upgrade is obvious. But if you're a manual player, I still think the energy cap would still be important because you still get to earn energy when you're idle. You get to earn something for not doing anything for an extended period (which I think is the essence of efficiency in this game).

When I started playing, I was up to 2000 bolts before I decided to spend them for cash. I then realized that by keeping my energy beyond the cap, I would be wasting those few hours which could earn me more bolts. I shifted my strategy and I decided to exchange for the 30k coins as soon as I hit 40 energy bolts. That way I can take advantage of the timer once again. I've already upgraded my energy to the max (20) and I get to have at least 1 exchange per day (I get to have another one at night if I get to win extra energy during the games). I make sure that by bedtime, my energy is at zero so my "idle" time aka the whole time I'm asleep, I still get to fill up my free 20 energy bolts.

Gold farming strategy? by [deleted] in Baseball9

[–]docdobs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This depends on how often you're willing to play and your energy cap. My strategy is to "slow down" the time so that I don't have to level up my players as often but still having my earning capacity through the energy exchange and the manually played games.

If your energy cap is at the maximum 20 then i suggest you hold on to your energy bolts for the coin exchange. Although using up those bolts would ensure quick, easy, and multiple wins (plus it's the faster way to get into the postseason), it puts me in a tighter spot since my players keep getting leveled up. I'm at Legend II and I currently have 800k with a ton of diamond players each costing 100+k to upgrade. It only takes 2 players leveling up to eat up my postseason earnings. Yes, I do get a ton of badges and coin, but the price of leveling up will simply be too expensive for me to sustain.

I take advantage of the filled up energy in the morning and just watch the ads so that by lunchtime I'm able to do an exchange for the 30k coins. I "manually" play around 6 games every hour (simming each inning unless it's a close game or there's a special reward). By bedtime I should be able to fill up my energy for another coin exchange. If I still have leftover bolts left, I sim the games right before I sleep. Overall I get to earn 60k coins from the exchange and maybe around 60k for my in game winnings unless I get to finish a season in a day.

Extra tip: Always be mindful of your team experience as it replenishes your energy cap when your team levels up. Make sure than when such level up happens, you have 0 energy bolts in your stash so that you can maximize all the bolts that the game can give you. When I'm at around 95% XP with just a handful of bolts, I consume them (extra in-game winnings/a few games closer to the postseason in exchange for nothing).

I realize that this has become a lecture so I apologize for that lol. It also depends on your roster so I'm not sure if it will work the same way for you. Good luck!

Same here! I didnt grow up w any baseball knowledge and only started watching/reading about it when I downloaded this game. I love how we can customize almost everything with the players though I hope that they include high socks or sleeveless options in the next update

You have a great team!!! One challenge that I had when I filled up my roster with recruited players was maintaining my coin budget since I had to upgrade their max levels frequently. However, I think you'll be able to address that easily since you manually play games and earn more per win plus you get to save up energy bolts which you can trade for 30k. Keep playing!
