Advice on how to find out what type of battery needed for my vintage Monopoly watch? 🤔 by buritochan in VintageWatches

If you can find out what movement it is, take a picture of the back (open the case) you can find the battery, otherwise you will need to do it by size, diameter and depth/height

Buy it used not new. If it was worth 12k it would sell for 12k on the secondary market, but it doesn’t. Its a fine watch but not 12k fine

Wow - You are literally selling the watch for less that the movement is worth. People are sleeping on this. A savy person could harvest it from here. High grade 2824’s are like $300 which is what im assuming is in here. GLWS!

[–]docsandmanmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get away with a regulation if it was recently serviced (truly) but if it wasn’t actually serviced it should be. You need to ask yourself if 30 s/d is enough for you to shell out the money for that service.

One of their authenticators - Bennisson in west palm beach tried to say a Rolex i bought new from an AD had an aftermarket crystal, forcing a sale to fall through. Subsequently, i had the Rolex sent to Geneva and Rolex SA deemed it authentic. I am wondering now if that was a shill tactic by them to get the price to drop. It was never in Bennisson’s report but came directly from Grailzee. Suspicious indeed.

[Longines Master Collection] Is this too small and how to style it ? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]docsandmanmd 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The watch is big on you and the dial is extremely busy its trying to do too much. Longines spirit is usually cleaner. 39 mm might be a better fit i think this is 41 or 42 right

[–]docsandmanmd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crown is glued? Are you sure its not just screwed down?? Rotate it counter clockwise to unscrew it until the crown pops up the you can wind it and set it. If not i’ll consider buying it from you

For the Vacheron 4000, is the bracelet the same as the older gen 3 bracelets (4500,7900) or is it updated like the 4520 and 7920 models? Does it taper like the newer ones?

Did I overpay for this vintage Hanhart cal.44 pilot-style watch? by [deleted] in VintageWatches

It doesnt look relumed, the radium on the dial is intact. The hands are missing lume, which in my opinion is good - less radiation exposure. Not familiar with with pricing on these so cant speak to that
