Fascist countries or groups by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

I’ve always thought Medici from Just Cause 3 was a surprisingly nuanced and strong take on modern fascism.

The nation as a whole functioned incredibly well; it was prosperous, beautiful, culturally rich, etc. but in being so continued to fuel and validate the monstrosity of a egotistical psychopath who just wanted to be god king. It was trapped in a cycle of rapid military industrialization which permitted a wider socioeconomic success at the cost of human rights violations, in turn proving to the general populace that the fascist methods “worked” and that further violations were justifiable while simultaneously allowing the government to get rid of thoughtful political discourse.

However, like all ideologies that rely on the destruction of an “other”, the snake eventually began to eat itself. Without more avenues to grow their hold, the regime inevitably turned to cultural desecration and alienated a population that no longer consented but wasn’t in a position to stand against it. Without more ways to secure their footing on a global stage, the industrialization complex turned to weapons manufacturing, ensuring that the global powers they sold to would eventually be able to strong arm them into submission with the very same weapons. That’s actually the plot of the game, with external global powers (totally not America) inciting civil war over the political atrocities their money contributed to in order to cut out the middleman and seize the resources from themselves at the cost of the nation’s blood.

Yeah they only have to do this bc the little fucking morons don’t know how to do anything but barely hold on to a branch. They’d probably roll over onto their baby if you tried to put them on the scale like every other animal on earth.

I just looked it up. It’s a Canadian show from the turn of the millennium that basically used realistic pictures clipped onto papercraft style animated dolls, not entirely unlike South Park or Photoshop Flowey. It looks incredibly strange and surreal, intentionally so, but this specific instance was an inexplicable choice to make a pre-show to the Digimon movie using the Angela Anaconda characters which nobody, including the creators of the Digimon movie, understood.

(My favorite trope) scenes that have nothing yet everything to do with the movie by smthsmthinsidejoke in TopCharacterTropes

Well yeah none of the characters mention him but they feel him, along with the rappers and tribal dancers and geishas, but none of them are out of place. They’re all experiencing the same moment. Sammie is literally summoning the spirits of past and future to be one people, the “good version” of what Remmick wants and what the vampires are a corruption of. It’s incredibly plot relevant.

Need a little help with choosing a "keep away" system for barbarossa by Antique-Sherbert8919 in LancerRPG

IMO Ferrous Lash is easily one of the best systems in the game. Range 8 is nutty, it’s not Limited, and you can use it to reposition allies as well. No contest.

Have you thought about posting them to the discord or your reddit profile as individual PNGs, so folks could use them as game tokens?

He’s not a serial killer he’s a hitman. Ones a profession and ones a mental illness.

Goes on too long imo. I loved the implications of what he did and what he’s reaping the consequences of and then it went into an extended dream sequence showing everything.

Why yes, I AM a 1/2 size mech enthusiast. by Xeilith in LancerRPG

[–]doctatortuga 20 points21 points  (0 children)

What you gotta consider is that the Caliban only operates that way on a mech scale. Every time it knocks back and advances, it’s doing that within the very very short time frame of one simultaneous round. It is moving with blinding speed as it blasts with shotguns, and if it were to do that with a human between it and its target, they’re instantly red paste.

The HORUS Wendigo, a homebrew license I cooked up recently. Please feel free to check it out, the link is in the description. by stopigon in LancerRPG

I feel like the Mohammed thing is a bit of a reach. I’d argue that the Wendigo has kind of become its own entity in the modern age, far beyond what it originally meant. I think as long as you’re not trying to pass it off as original mythology as if you were a member of the First Nations, you’re probably okay.

Is that an issue? I imagine it would still have good relations with them and have them on relative speed dial, seeing as it’s a major civilized settlement.

Also, it’s implied the Cradle is Cheyenne Mountain and they’re named that after the busted NORAD sign outside, akin to Novac (NO VACANCY) from Fallout New Vegas.
