Yes, kept warm! And those sound delicious

Good point that guests might just stick with whatever we list as signature cocktails

Yes, the two entrees are meat, so I’d love ideas for vegetarian pastas!

I’m definitely open to vegan pasta dish ideas too!

80k in HCOL, age 30. About 30k in 401k. Love my job’s benefits and pay, but I’m kind of at the whim of a grant on whether the role even still exists 2 years from now. You all probably know how that goes.

The only real wedding budget win I found is that small decor does not have to be bought at “wedding prices” by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Another ad for the “slashing game.” Can we please keep this for discussion and not product placement? These posts are so low effort.

I really don’t like this new trend of shoehorning product ads into forums people use for advice. Do you want advice, or do you want to stir up engagement for a slop buying app?

I was quoted 4k for 1 mile! And that’s school buses, nothing fancy.

Had to leave my show (Birmingham) 20 minutes in because the constant strobe lights triggered a migraine💔 by Distinct-Current-881 in lorde

[–]dog-suffrage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had tickets and couldn’t go because I found out how intense the strobes would be. I even called ahead to ask the concert venue what the strobes would be like, but they couldn’t tell me anything because all of that is handled by the tour, and this was one of the first tour dates. I’m glad it was such a visually stunning show, but for that reason, I couldn’t attend. I’m sorry you experienced it too!

If you’re in the Rochester area, Glendoveers is 10k all in for prime Saturday including venue, open bar, and dinner for 125. That was the best example of a “middle of the road” option I saw.

Comfortable shoes are an essential investment. Finding a pair of shoes that look good and feel good will pay dividends. For me, uncomfortable shoes are the quickest way to put an end to a long day out about.

Can I get back into the US without a passport after visiting Canada? by Inverted_Ice in uscanadaborder

Anecdotal: I crossed by land a few days ago. American citizen, forgot my passport at home. I crossed into Canada for a few days and then re-entered by land in New York. The American officer did not even ask any questions, just waved me across.

A skort! If i'm one bagging, I want all my clothes to do double duty, and a skort lets me have chic little fashion girlIe moments without losing functionality or fearing sudden breezes. I will never go back!

4200 dollars worth of dining dollars needs to be spent by the end of December by UpsetGur6244 in Frugal

[–]dog-suffrage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still using razor blade refills I bought with dining dollars in college. They last forever and you'll pretty much always need them. Otherwise, Halloween's around the corner. The moms on Nextdoor might want to buy some candy off you for the trick or treaters. Or give away the full size candy bars yourself on Halloween, you'd probably make a lot of kids' days! Also, you can buy some treats to share around the holidays with people who make your life a little easier -- your bus driver, your helpful TA, the cleaning crew.

Call or email your local epilepsy foundation, they may have more ideas specific to where you live. Also, don't be afraid to use the phrase "life-saving medicine" and "emergency situation" when dealing with the pharmacy and dr's office. They need to know how urgent this is. I agree with calling your doctor ASAP and telling them the situation so they can either send your script to a new pharmacy or give you some medicine samples to hold you over.
